CNN reporter claims most OWS protesters are libertarians that support Ron Paul

It's crazy that you guys want nothing to do with this group or this whole action, but yet you sit online behind a computer and complain all day?

At least they know there is a problem and they are out there making some noise about it....but yet I guess it's better to sit behind the computer and bitch....

Why is it that people always assume that we sit at a computer all day just because we are posting on an online forum?

I was at OWS yesterday, and i gave two speeches about the fed. Both speeches were very well received (I'll be able to post a vid as soon as this girl who has it sends it to me). I had a RP shirt and a RP sign. Most people I spoke to were friendly, open to the message, and welcoming of libertarians into the OWS movement. Honestly, some people on this forum need to stop being partisan idiots. Revolutions aren't started by people who keep to themselves and refuse to work with people who have different viewpoints. Revolutions aren't started by people who are terrified of any little negative attention that comes their way. If we want any hope of long term success we need to extend olive branches, not burn bridges.

STOP BEING DICKS.

And stop being so god damn insecure about the MSM coverage honestly.

OWS I was there too yesterday probably saw you somewhere because I know I saw a ton of Ron Paul supporters mixed in.

500 posts in 1 month I would assume so....but it is what it is.

I spoke to a bunch of RP supporters there. I'm a pretty young looking guy (I'm 19 but I've been told I look closer to 16 :/ ). I had a white R[3VO_|]UTION t-shirt from 2008 with RP's face on it. I had a RP 2012 sign. I was at Zuccotti Park for a bit, but I gave both speeches at Washington Square Park later in the day. I might try to head back tomorrow, and do pretty much the same thing. Unlike those who prefer to sit on their computers whining about how bad these protesters are, I'm actually attempting to change people's minds, and I applaud anybody else who does the same.

I don't think many here are against people going down there to educate and spread our philosophy. What some are against is people marching down the street with the protesters while waving a Ron Paul sign. Big difference. Don't go down there to "be one of them". Go down there to educate them.

I would argue that the average voter has significantly less brain cells than the average non-voter. I really do not understand the partisanship around here and the fealty to the GOP. Remember political parties are vehicles, nothing more, nothing less. If you can get elected as a DEM GO FOR IT. Same with GOP. This party bullshit is too eerily reminiscent of Stalinism and USSR-apparatchiks.

PS: Most people in this country want 'free' stuff from the Government. You are seriously deluded if you think the folks in the GOP do not want 'free' stuff. They sure like Medicaid, Medicare, SS, some sort of unemployment (just not 99 weeks worth), foreign welfare, corporate welfare, etc.

The tea party rallies don't ask for free stuff.

these occupy rallies are all about the free stuff - income redistribution. The Canadian website or magazine or whatever that has been pushing this for months is partially owned by Soros.

If you do, leave your Ron Paul stuff behind. Perhaps a Gimmie Free Stuff sign.

This is exactly why Ron Paul didn't want to associate himself with the movement. It's the ignorant Americans that still listen to the MSM for everything, and they're going to spin the OWS movement against Paul as much as possible. Even though the OWS movement and Ron Paul+Supporters stand for much of the same thing (not everything), it still chases potential voters away. Ron foresaw this happening, which is why he isn't associated himself with their movement.

I understand the sentiment that those who are fearful of associating with OWS but I honestly believe that somebody who would reject Ron Paul based on some supporters at a rally would find a reason to reject him even if he took the Cain approach of chastising the OWS movement.

I would tend to think that most of us that have come to support Ron Paul did so by either taking the time to challenge our own long held personal views or from somebody else taking the time to have an intellectually honest discussion.

Oh bull. Things would be worse if the remaining non-voters all voted.

There is no way to know for sure. However, there are plenty of countries where everyone has to vote by law. Are they more free than the US? Then there are countries were certain folks cannot vote, like Saudi Arabia. Are they more free than the US?

I can tell you that when voter turn out is very low in the US in certain elections, like some local elections, many of the voters are government workers/ union members or friends and family of government workers.

Next time I make it to OWS (which unfortunately may not be for a couple of weeks, I'm not usually this close to the city) I will be sure to bring as much RP and pro liberty stuff as I can. This movement is bigger than any single election.

Just watching CNN and the live reporter from the scene of one of the protests was asked if the protesters were supporting any particular party or candidate and said said many are libertarians and are supporting Ron. If any GOP primary voters were watching we just lost their vote. It was pretty bad, she actually made it sound like the majority of the protesters are Ron Paul supporting Libertarians.

How many registered Republican voters watch CNN?

here's a clip of a CNN reporter tying Ron Paul to OWS today (@2:20), but from your description this doesn't appear to be the clip you are describing

The reason we are here on "ronpaulforums.com" is to get Ron Paul elected.

What "movement" are you talking about?

The Occupy Wall Street "movement" which has nothing at all to do with Ron Paul except for the fact that it's so vague and poorly defined that it allows Ron Paul supporters to jump in there and say their thing?

Or the tea party, which Ron Paul founded and which sounds exactly like Ron Paul?
