CNN Poll Guiliani 16% (?!) Romney 15%, Palin 13%, Ron Paul 12%

My post was sarcastic; I know it can be hard to discern on the internet. If you had been following the bruhaha in the other forums with Steve Bierfieldt telling us Grassroots out-of-staters to buzz off out of Iowa and to stop making phonecalls well...hence my sarcasm.

This isn't 2007. The campaign has learned from it's mistakes, and name recognition is no longer a problem.
Last cycle our slogan was Google Ron Paul because no one had heard of him, now folks know who he is and it's showing in the polls.
We just need to get rid of the 'he can't win', he's too old', 'he's a kook' issues. Those are our biggest obstacles this time around.

Oh I thought you were being sarcastic and I was just playin' along. ;) Still I think a cool viral video campaign would take the original awful commercial, remix it with some hip music, show Ron Paul winning straw polls and surging in national scientific polls, and then end with "....and this time we really mean it."

T-Paw's campaign has been getting it done in terms of turning out some high quality ads. As much as I'm not a fan of my former governor, I enjoyed his ads and I'm assuming they're very appealing to the rank and file GOP. We need to be getting out stuff like this; we can air them in cheap markets like Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Manchester, Columbia, Greenville, Charleston (cheap?), and Reno. Plus they'd make the rounds on all the conservative blogs and keep Paul in the news.

We also need to take a cue from Pawlenty and attack Obama, and stress how Paul's record is the only one different from Obama's. That's much more effective than attacking other GOPers, at least now.

We just need to find some nice 9-minute commercial block somewhere.

RON PAUL: How to Energize Your Republican Base

Finding a block of time is easy if you have the cash. But people have short attention spans. Real them in with short ads to your website and they can watch the 9 minute version later. That's a great video to edit down to a powerful 30 second - 2 1/2 minute video. Kind of like these...

i wish i could be as optimistic as others on this site but from what i've seen in the media and based on the people i talk to, ron paul is still viewed as a gadfly long shot. my local conservative radio host just now did a segment on this exact poll and for 20 minutes commented on gulianni's chances vs romney/palin etc. there was never any mention of RP, this morning on Rush-it was all Palin, (beck,israel-go figure).
I pretty much keep the news on all day (foxnews/cnn/msnbc) and still- RP is blacked out. i know the media hasn't really given him a chance to really express his message...but to really consider RP a mainstream threat to the other GOP-bots is waaay premature...much more hard work is needed.

Yea we need some high quality 30 second and 1 minute ads like the first two from Pawlenty. Probably with flashy camera shots, voice overs, and all the other bells and whistles as those seem to be the norm for good political ads nowadays.

Needs less Michael Bay/Armageddon, more substance.

The kind of ad I prefer is just the person talking to me. No cuts. No music. Just "This is me. This is what I believe. Here is what I would do as president."

If the majority of Americans did prefer your kind of ads, Ron Paul would be President already. Unfortunately that's not the case. Most people get bored, flip the channel, click another link, or tune out if the ad isn't flashy enough.

If Drudge truly is on our side, that's HUGE. That's on scale as having Rush, Hannity, or Beck pitching for us.

I'm not sure he's a Paul backer though, but he's obviously open to him.

It could be that one of the other two people, that help pick the content, is a Paul supporter. From wiki:

The Drudge Report is a news aggregation website. Run by Matt Drudge with the help of Joseph Curl[2] and Charles Hurt[3], the site consists mainly of links to stories from the United States and international mainstream media about politics, entertainment, and current events as well as links to many columnists. The Drudge Report is often considered conservative in tone, though the sources cited and linked run the gamut of political leanings.[5][6][7][8][9]

Drudge knows Ron Paul stories generate traffic. I am sure that is all it is.
Drudge is one of the biggest generators of traffic . He has a huge volume and putting Ron Paul's name will create an insignificant amount of additional hits. When you google Ron Paul, the Drudge Report doesn't appear in the list of results even if he has Ron Paul's name on his site that day.

Hotair commenters are freaking out Ron Paul today regarding this poll so it must have some good news.

Drudge is the biggest conservative blogger in terms of traffic on the net period. The only one bigger is Huffingtonpost, but that one has a liberal bent.
