CNN/ORC Poll: Bush surges to 2016 GOP frontrunner

This is the go to method of the msm. Proclaim the result you desire and make it a self fulfilling prophecy. It is laughable how often this script is repeated. Remember Gulianni, Santorem, Thompson, and McCain? All of these candidates had virtually 0 traction until the msm decided to proclaim them as number 1. Despite not campaigning or even showing a desire to run, they are somehow the frontrunner. Their 4 years of executive political experience is compared to a well trained surgeon as they are immidiately declared presidential.

Honestly, the US is a lost cause on the federal level. No matter how hard you vote the same piece of trash will be sent to the front without any message or real issues.

exactly!!!! same old shitty story. i even remember in 2007 right before the msm pushed mccain, they actually labeled ron paul "the maverick". i wish i had recorded it. but its true. they called hiim the maverick for abour a week or two. then they stopped. then about a month later mccain was deemed that title. i was thinking "people will remember this!!" no one did.

anyone here remember that? or is it just me? ill try to find a clip.

I don't know who tells you these things, but direct marketing is one of those tools used to reinforce the opinion of someone who has pretty much already made up their mind.
No, not at all. Branding (yard signs / bumper stickers) reinforce the purchase decision, not make it.

Only a matter of time before you hear Santorum surging and "It's a horse race with Jeb and Mitt neck and neck". Of course no mention of Rand even if he is polling higher than either one or both.

This may not have worked in 2012 because many liberty minded people like myself wanted Obama gone so bad, we held our noses and voted for Romney.

That isn't holding your nose, that's shoving your own damn face into a pile of shit. I can link to ideas on game theory and voting but the bottom line is you voted statist in 2012 and will be assumed to do so until you prove us wrong. I vote 3rd party/L in the GENERAL until my state gets an R. Paul.

That's the perennial MSM gameplan. Pick a statist 'frontrunner,' regardless of where he actually is in the pack, or no matter what his lack of resources are (remember how Cain, Gingrich, Santorum got talked up despite the inability of any of them to maintain a national campaign for the nomination?). Then pick a statist 'challenger' to talk about in counterpoint to the frontrunner, in order to maintain the pretext of covering a 'race.'

This way you are free to ignore or sideline covering the real alternative in Paul, as it doesn't look so much as a media blackout (because the MSM can say "our coverage of the others is limited, because we're concentrating on the frontrunners"). This game of protect-the-chosen-one, declare just about everybody else unelectable will be pushed hard by the media manipulators later in 2015.

Anyone else will throw it in the trash. Boobus will vote for whoever looks good on teevee...or the guy or gal he would "like to have a beer with".

Is it really this simple? What about local races where there is no TV coverage and the only way a campaign contacts you is direct mail? Perhaps mail is not the most effective thing, but it seems to have an effect in races I have been involved in. Especially when used to push a smear campaign.

I was speaking mostly of a national campaign...we hear this comment about people choosing the guy they would prefer to have a beer with almost every election. I think you may have a point about smaller local races where the candidate isn't spending money on TV. But when they start filling my mailbox every day, it goes in the garbage can before it even makes it into the house.

Unless funny business is in play.

It's better to go in prepared for these silly antics rather than to assume it won't go down. I stated earlier I hope it doesn't and that I have trouble seeing it actually happen but..........Yall been on this site before me and experienced it first hand, all I saw was a youtube video accumulating it. Just gotta turn more anti-statists into republican primary voters lol

lets face it cajun and others, Jeb is extemely boring. I can't see him getting far in Iowa or New Hampshire. These early polls mean nothing, Guiliani used to lead the ones from 07 and look how that turned out.

That's true....just be prepared. No Bushes 2016

I will be very happy when self-proclaimed libertarians and conservatives stop letting the media choose their candidates for them. The fact that we keep entertaining the discussion says a lot about how free thinking we really are.
