It's probably more complex than this simplistic statement. A Western Christian is probably safer in a Muslim Turkey than in a Christian Mexico especially close to Christian US border areas. Seems like Mulsim Countries where foreign Christians spread freedom are probably the most dangerous for local Christians, why is that?
Geopolitic factors, wars/civil wars, economic situation, literacy and crime seem to matter matter more than religion per se.
