They'll only make it illegal to attend certain churches. A church that teaching, for example, that you face burning in hell for eternity for being a practicing homosexual, for example, will be an obvious target in the future. But attendance at churches that teach what the state wants taught will be mandated. And come to think of it, using the logic of V3N, jkob, JCDenton and others, that makes perfect sense. I mean if a licensed counselor can cause a gay teen to commit suicide just by agreeing to talk with him about his past and praying with him in an effort to help him change, than what will a "fire and brimstone" sermon do? Really, which is more "torture?" (And note, I'm no longer even entertaining the anecdotes the other side keeps spouting without evidence, partly because they have no evidence and partly because the law in question didn't single out those practices but instead banned all counseling of minors as lon as the intent was to help them overcome being gay.)
I listed three first-hand experiences with sources sited. I'm not going to repeat them because the practices committed disgust me, and I'm not going to write them again. How you can sit and defend those practices, or deny that they happen, is beyond me. It's abuse. There should be laws against abuse. That is all I have left to say on this matter. Don't move to New Jersey if you don't like it.
