Campaign for Liberty solicitations

Ill do that but the question still remains. Why are their emails not telling me how to connect with my state coordinator or why hasn't my state coordinator emailed me?
Because those e-mails are designed to solicit donations. Some people want to be active, some people want to send money. These are designed to capture those people.

Most of the liberty movement isn't on RPF; I wish they were though.

If we have to go there and find an organization, we can do that right here. People don't seem to be there either, right now. Personally, I think people are just waiting to see what is up, but right now your attitude that people here should be activating C4L doesn't seem very useful.

Some states are organized, others are not. To move forward either join the existing organization, or start building one.

Every time Matt Collins pushes C4L, it makes me want to do the opposite. Just a reflex reaction like when a car salesman tells me, "it's a great time to trade in my car."

It looks to me like the Campaign for Liberty mailing list was sold or given to the Romney campaign. I have a very unique mailing label that started with a project I worked on years ago in the 2008 era that has now 'migrated' to Romney campaign solicitations. I have long since removed my name from Campaign for Liberty solicitations (or tried anyway)...

Nothing new under the sun!

Funny you should post this now. Not 30 seconds ago they just tried to call me. Twice. I can't answer it right now though.... I guess they are hitting up their members hard right now?

I got a phone call from somebody having to do with Ron Paul earlier today probably wanting money.

That's a childish reaction.

No offense, and I'm not trying to pick a fight, but it's a natural reaction. At least among those of us who dislike pushy salespeople.

And yes, I understand that all the "Sales 101" instructors will tell you that it's important to push. And push. And push some more. Be aggressive! Get in there and close the sale! If you let 'em walk, they won't come back! Don't let them say they'll think about it -- get in there and close! Push!!

Yeah.

That might work on the meek and timid, and it might be a real sales driver among a population of sheep. But I get the feeling there ain't so many of those here, my friend. For an independent-minded, stubborn jackass such as myself, the "hard sell" just tends to piss me off.

When was the last time you spoke to your state CFL coordinator?

I think the appropriate question is how many times have you tried to contact your state coordinator only to get no response except emails asking for money.

Wow, some of you folks really love to complain about things.

I get these emails all the time from C4L and from other organizations. Big deal, if I don't feel like reading it, I delete it. Organizations are ALWAYS fundraising, this is nothing new it has been like this for decades. If you don't want solicitations, then don't join organizations. If you don't like how an organization is run, then remove yourself from their list. If you think you can start a better organization, then get off your ass and do it.

It takes a long time, great effort, and multiple requests to get off those email lists. I think they still keep your email address once you make the request to unsubscribe, and then they either sell it or give it to another list that you didn't sign up for in the first place.

P.S. If you are tired of getting repetitive emails spammed down your throat, make your most generous donation today!

I'm 74 years old and even I know how to mark an address as spam, and have it automatically go into my junk mail. Again, I don't see what the big deal is.

The issue is that C4L is pretty hardcore in its persistence in begging for money and that gets annoying pretty quick. When you know before you even open the email that the entire point of the email is to ask for money, it's too much.

What C4L needs to do in these emails is actually account for their activities so people know what the money being asked for will be spent on. My fear is that C4L as an organization is primarily focused on paying staff and not on the alleged objective.

Then leave it. It's just that simple.

And by the way, they aren't the only organization that is always begging for money. Many of them do so, especially newer organizations that are operating on a shoe string budget.

I got an email from them with a link to the survey they sent to Texas legislature candidates. I appreciate that they are asking questions of our local candidates. Unfortunately, not many of them answered the survey.

I get begging emails from dozens of different organizations. Then in the mail, I get all kinds of bogus surveys. I sent money to an Indian school in the Dakotas about 10 years ago. I get a letter asking for money with an enclosed dreamcatcher about every 2 months. I don't even have to buy address labels anymore because I get so many free ones from groups asking for money. Maybe C4L needs to include free address labels or a liberty dreamcatcher with their snail mail letters.

BINGO!! We don't fall for the same tricks as the mass populace. C4L should know that by now. I delete the messages right away and I've been doing that for a couple weeks now, I know exactly what to expect. Within an inch of unsubscribing. Not to mention, the rudeness they have showed to the grassroots has really irked me.. Benton, Tate, SouthernAvenger (forget his name), and even Rand to a degree, I've had it with political establishment hacks in the past, these guys aren't acting any different.

While the Mises Institute has Tom Woods, Lew Rockwell, and other non-establishment REAL thinkers, C4L is looking more and more like a shill operation.
