Most of the liberty movement isn't on RPF; I wish they were though. If we are going to self organize, Matt, we can do that right here.

Because those e-mails are designed to solicit donations. Some people want to be active, some people want to send money. These are designed to capture those people.Ill do that but the question still remains. Why are their emails not telling me how to connect with my state coordinator or why hasn't my state coordinator emailed me?

Some states are organized, others are not. To move forward either join the existing organization, or start building one.Personally, I think people are just waiting to see what is up, but right now your attitude that people here should be activating C4L doesn't seem very useful.

That's a childish reaction.Every time Matt Collins pushes C4L, it makes me want to do the opposite.
Funny you should post this now. Not 30 seconds ago they just tried to call me. Twice. I can't answer it right now though.... I guess they are hitting up their members hard right now?
That's a childish reaction.
When was the last time you spoke to your state CFL coordinator?

It takes a long time, great effort, and multiple requests to get off those email lists. I think they still keep your email address once you make the request to unsubscribe, and then they either sell it or give it to another list that you didn't sign up for in the first place.
Wow, some of you folks really love to complain about things.
I get these emails all the time from C4L and from other organizations. Big deal, if I don't feel like reading it, I delete it. Organizations are ALWAYS fundraising, this is nothing new it has been like this for decades. If you don't want solicitations, then don't join organizations. If you don't like how an organization is run, then remove yourself from their list. If you think you can start a better organization, then get off your ass and do it.
The issue is that C4L is pretty hardcore in its persistence in begging for money and that gets annoying pretty quick. When you know before you even open the email that the entire point of the email is to ask for money, it's too much.
No offense, and I'm not trying to pick a fight, but it's a natural reaction. At least among those of us who dislike pushy salespeople.
And yes, I understand that all the "Sales 101" instructors will tell you that it's important to push. And push. And push some more. Be aggressive! Get in there and close the sale! If you let 'em walk, they won't come back! Don't let them say they'll think about it -- get in there and close! Push!!
Yeah.
That might work on the meek and timid, and it might be a real sales driver among a population of sheep. But I get the feeling there ain't so many of those here, my friend. For an independent-minded, stubborn jackass such as myself, the "hard sell" just tends to piss me off.
Call it whatever you wish it's an honest reaction, and one that's shared by others, including myself. That's a childish reaction.
