im bullish on Beck. I genuinely think he's coming around, and Rand is making enough concessions to court him. It's definitely a meet-in-the-middle type of thing though.

I don't see this as being the reason Beck is throwing a few bones. He's doing it because he's an opportunist, he did the exact same thing with the Tea Party.

Just back in November I heard Glenn Beck say on his radio show that there were huge differences between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney and that basically anyone saying differently are crazy and need to stay away from the polls...

1. I never said Beck didn't have some authoritarian viewpoints (many libertarians do); I merely said he never flip-flopped except where he became MORE libertarian. Note he has never once changed his viewpoint regarding foreign policy toward jihadists even though he has always agreed with Ron Paul's foreign policy in every other manner.
2. You consider it a violation of the NAP, I consider it a violation of the NAP; but many libertarians don't because they see crazy jihadists calling for the destruction of America while seeking arms to carry out that destruction as analogous to madmen at the door loading pistols. The NAP in those libertarians' views permits them to fire before the madmen finish loading the guns they intend to use because those madmen pose an imminent threat. But Beck always demanded we attack jihadists with a Formal Constitutional Declaration of War and not through the bullshit neocon endless phantom terror method.
