Buying my first gun tomorrow, hopefully.

Well patriots, considering the economic and political conditions, it seems I've already waited too long to buy a gun, but in an attempt before Obama goes along with a ban on "assault" rifles, I'm going to attempt to buy an AK47. I have no idea what make or model, I'm just going to go to the store and buy one that's around 400 bucks. Wish me luck! Quick though, what should I be looking for in the gun as far as defects and such? Thanks!

If your getting an ak-47 around 400 then you will probably get a Romanian wasr-10 made by century arms. This is the gun i 1st bought a few months ago and a few things to look for are canted front sights (hold barrel to your face and make sure everything is straight and in line with gun) and canted gas block (thing above barrel) I like my gun and feel i got a good deal paid 420 or so after tax.

I highly recommend the AK Saiga in 7.62 x 39. I bought one of those a few months ago and absolutely LOVE it. 1,000 plus rounds through it with not so much as a hiccup. And I only paid $320 for it.

One thing, though- they do NOT accept standard AK magazines, and the high cap saiga ones are NOT cheap ($40).
