Thank you very much for explaining that, it helps a lot. So if my state (Nebraska) is not like WV and we have a primary, does me being a delegate really help Ron Paul?
YES!!!!!

No if your state holds a traditional primary, the only thing being a delegate will help with is if he wins the state. Then you would get to go to the GOP convention in St. Paul as a national delegate if he won the state.
Well I will try to become a state level delegate then. I have one more question and I want you to know I really appreciate your answers. I've been asking for awhile now and I haven't been able to find out, so thank you. I want to help out and become a state level delegate and go to the GOP convention but I don't understand why delegates are needed or what their role is in the election process. Here's my question: If I get elected as a state level delegate, what will my role be if I go to the GOP convention? How does me being a delegate help Ron Paul win?

I think the idea is to confuse the shit out of any normal person and let the corrupt asshole who made the system keep their crooks in Washington.
This is really simple and not totally correct, but it should help you understand the process a little bit better.I appreciate your sense of humor, but this is confusing enough for normal people that trying to help. If you want to beat the corrupt people in Washington at their own game, please help us normal people out and tell us why we need to be there. A delegate goes to the Republican National Convention and does what? If everything is based on votes, how will being a delegate help Ron Paul win?
yes, Ron Paul should ease off on being anti-war. Ron Paul wipes the other candidates clean when it comes to domestic policy, so he can still win a chunk of pro-war voters on that alone. Only GOP talking about cutting government.
You live in Nebraska, right?
Nebraska's May 13th primary (which BTW is the same day as WV's)... will determine which candidate gets to send their delegates to the national GOP convention in St. Paul. They don't need state delegates. I don't believe they have them in Nebraska. But you could become a national delegate for if he wins the state.
I would suggest just spreading the world as much as possible.... since a plurality/majority vote in your primary will determine the state's winner. Just mobilize people to go to the polls and vote. That's all.

Delegates are selected or elected, and then they choose the state delegates who will go to the RNC and vote for the Presidential nominee.
Again, it's not this simple, but think of a delegate as representing a chunk of the population, and casting a nominating vote as their representative.
Honestly, each state is different, and has different kinds of delegates and a nominating process. There are bound delegates and unbound delegates. It gets more convoluted the deeper we get into each state's process.:O I had no idea that's what a delegate does. I thought they just tallied up the votes from all the different states and determined who won that way. So what you are saying is that once a state has selected a nominee by way of popular vote, a delegate then goes and votes again to represent the state? That's complete B.S. The delegate could lie. Are you telling me it all comes down to integrity? Sorry, but if that's the case, I'm doing everything in power to become a delegate.
Great news! This has inspired me to look into become a delegate in Kansas!
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YOU ROCK!!!! 1 down 49 to go!
