BRAINSTORM BOMB: Post new ideas here!

It's time to re-focus on Iowa and New Hampshire. Everybody did their part in raising $6 million yesterday. That's awesome! There will be a press conference later today. I don't think there's much more we can do to get MSM to give Ron Paul more free coverage (but if you have an idea, post it here!). From now until the results of Iowa and New Hampshire, it's up to MSM whether they will give time to Ron Paul or not. Complaining about it isn't going to change anything, so there are better ways to spend your time and resources.

If we do well in Iowa and/or New Hampshire, we will get more press and more new supporters than any of us can dream of. Iowa is in 17 days. New Hampshire is in 22 days. This is it people! This is the most important time to help out with Iowa and New Hampshire. Have you done all you can? Are you going to do all you can, or will you look back on these few weeks, and regret not doing more?

It's up to campaign HQ to spend a large chunk of the money we've given them on advertising. Be supportive of what they do. Don't waste time complaining about what the campaign comes up with unless you have suggestions on improving it. There's 2 1/2 weeks left for Iowa. There probably isn't time to change what the campaign comes up with, no matter how much you complain about it. Instead, use your time to raise support and raise votes in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Ways to help Iowa and New Hampshire:
  • Write letters to people in Iowa.
  • Write letters to people in New Hampshire.
  • Call people in Iowa.
  • Call people in New Hampshire.
  • Go to Iowa or New Hampshire to help out there in person. Post in the forums if you are interested in going there. I'm sure somebody can set you up with a place to stay whether it's for a week, a weekend, or just a day, and there may be others interested in carpooling with you.
  • Send DVD's to people in Iowa. I think there should be an effort to get the new Iowa infomercial on DVD ASAP. Supporters can send them to Iowans along with handwritten letters or other literature. I think a good demographic to hit up first is churches. If you convert the leader of a group of people, you have the potential to convert all of their people as well. I'm sure there's other groups that could be hit up as well... unions, clubs, businesses, etc.
  • The same goes for New Hampshire. I don't know if there's an infomercial in the works for New Hampshire, but there should be.
  • Run ads in Iowa and New Hampshire papers. It doesn't cost a lot to run an ad in a little local paper. There are a lot of ads all ready to go that may just need a tiny bit of editing (such as the USA Today ad).
  • Ask friends and family if they know anybody in Iowa or New Hampshire. A letter or phone call from a friend of a friend is always a lot more effective than a letter or phone call from a complete stranger.

This is it! This is the time to capitalize on everything we've done so far. We will have more work to do after Iowa and New Hampshire, but right now this is absolutely the most important thing we can do for the campaign.

A new News Network to combat the MSM bias, including both print and video.

A new press for the new millennium.

Fund the great new TV ads, here: www.OperationNH.com so that they can be aired in all the early primary states!

We are running out of time to do this. We wanted great ads and now we have them. All we have left to do is donate enough money so that they can be aired.

Way to keep this thread organized, Lucid! My ideas:

- February 14 Valentine's Day rEVOLution money bomb.
- We need to organize one HUGE rally. Think in later March, I say this because it'd be around spring break and more people could go. Where is Columbus at? Somewhere in the south, Florida, etc . . . That'd be nifty.
- We need to get donations up for ronpauldvdbomb.com

I think the first thing we need to do is GET NEW IDEAS, I think the super bowl idea is GREAT! because this gives us the opportunity to do a few things. I think the main thing that is discouraging people from jumping on the Ron Paul ship is the media and to an extent ourselves have played a roll in stereo typing the typical ron paul supporter as an anti-Semitic extremist voting for this "insurgent" ron paul campaign. I think with a DAMN good ad we can remove this stereo type from the people and allow them to openly decide for themselves whether they want to vote ron paul or not. I believe the first goal of the commercial should not be to get votes but to eradicate any ideas that we are negative and in any way anti American. I think it should be a very patriotic piece done to remind the average red blooded football watching American just why America is great and what and who made it that way and why they believed the way they did. I think this should be a progressive piece like we see on youtube. I don't know about you guys but I think as soon as we can remove ourselves from the bonds of how the media has portrayed ron paul supporters we will obtain more votes than we could imagine.

Thanks

edit: I think the media learns from our victories and learns to marginalize our "rerun" victories so that the average american won't share in this victory. They are treating this as a war, so we should as well. We need to always keep them guessing as this is a sure fire way to obtain more victories for Ron Paul. Winning this isn't about doing the same things but harder, it's about changing what we do to constantly surprise the media into having to cover our victories.

Organize a veterans for Ron Paul rally on the national mall.

This could be huge of you could arrange for some prominent veteran endorsements.

I was thinking along the same lines. A 1:30 min ad, with Dr. Paul's best quotes, something along the lines of the one that's on the top left on this web site and the best Youtube videos.

All we need is for people to listen to him, nothing more. If his message gets heard that's 80% of the battle in my opinion.

We should focus on exposing the message and the guy.

The we can just buy ad space. Doesn't have to be the Superbowl, just a nice inspirational powerful ad.

There are may good ideas here. I like the Veterans push.
Besides GOTV and what the campaign is doing is there a way for us to manipulate
things like Google. Remember when moveon.org did the google bomb with Bush
and the words stupid or something like that.
How can we coordinate our clicks in a solid fashion. I'm not suggesting we hack any sites and I'm no guru with a computer so i don't know what the exact laws are. But, I would help if we could find a hit piece and focus our time on that site to crash it. Kinda like what happened to our stuff yesterday from eveyone watching it.
Is that legal?

It also hit me yesterday driving past the ATL airport that it would be awesome to have a billboard in major cities right on the main interstate leaving the airports, saying "ATLANTA (or your city) SUPPORTS RON PAUL!"

I think footwork is critical. As far as getting ads out I think the National Treasure II ad is where its at.

3700+ screens. Possibility of 11,000,000 + people seeing a full 30 second ad and having Dr. Paul associated with all of the positive anything is possible revolutionary notions that the film throws at people. Even if its subconscious it makes for a positive association before the MSM can make a negative one first.

Ron Paul as the New Year Baby...bringing change to the New Year.

I like the Super bowl and Martin Luther King day ideas

I like what Mark and Clay Trainor have suggested. We can start with a Ron Paul Republican Party website and team up with that RealNews concept. I read more positive stories in these forums than in MSM. Also the website can merge all the related news that support our platform and local candidates into one easy to navigate site. Surely with all this creative energy we can make our own media outlet.

I would like to also thank all of you for for your passion in freedom. I almost lost faith that no one cared anymore. All you young people involved have really impressed the hell out of me and my hat's off to everyone involved. I'm sorry that I doubted the younger generation but you do not hear about this movement in the old media. It is absolutely crucial to change this misconception somehow.

I think a Superbowl ad is definitely possible. First, we'll need good ideas for the ad. Then somebody will have to put together the best idea (or maybe a few of the best ideas to be voted on). Once people have seen it, they may decide to help fund it. It's going to take a really special ad to get enough funding to run during the Superbowl. It may be a good idea to give it a test run during Monday Night Football first to get an idea of the response to it. I'd guess that a Monday Night Football ad is like 1/20th the cost of a Superbowl ad.

I was going to suggest an ad during the Oscars as well, but that's not until Feb 24th. It may be something to consider after Super Duper Tuesday though.

How much is an ad durring the super bowl?

How much is an ad for nation treasure?

It would be great to do both!!

How about a toy drive in Iowa and/or New Hampshire?

It could be a nice photo op: Ron Paul giving a few thousand toys to Toys For Tots donated by his supporters. There was a news story this weekend about Marines having trouble getting enough toys this year.

That's a nice idea. I dunno how much candidates can be directly involved with us, but if we take it upon ourselves with the meetups to do this this would be something major.
