Bill Whittle: wants to tell you how to vote

a guy at work sent me this video after I told him I was writing in Ron Paul. Ive been trying to convert this guy for some time now.

First interaction: RP is a crazy nut job.
Little bit later: RP might be right.
Some time after that: We DO need to audit the fed.
Weeks pass by: END THE FED

Now he wants me to vote for Romney because he cant be worse than BO.

Still writing in RP, but how to respond? Its like the republicans are preemptively blaming RP supporters for a BO reelection. Now I keep hearing that if I don't vote for Mitt or Obama then I can't complain. I know its a dumb argument but how do I respond to the average "DEFEAT OBAMA AT ALL COSTS" person?

How do you respond? Ask him how to get the GOP to change if they know you will eat whatever dog food they give you?

i asked him if I was allowed to complain if i voted for Romney and he did exactly what he said he was going to do: go to war with Iran, support Obamacare, indefinitely detain American citizens without trial....ect. No response back from him yet, but I know tomorrow when I hang out with my parents for my mom's bday they will say the exact same thing.

Oh, and I live in Hamilton Co, Ohio so my vote means that much more, even though Bain already owns the voting machines here.

I just say I voted for Bush and that's enough responsibility for bad things to last me a lifetime, but you may not have my dark past....

actually I turned 18 and voted for Bush the second time...didn't vote in 08 (BO almost got me but then I found RP while watching The Daily Show)

I was sent this video yesterday in an e-mail. The Republican's must be worried about where our votes are going... I know we'll be blamed if Romney loses.

there are so MANY posts of this sort. Some think they can insult us into voting the way they want, others are respectful, but ALL pretend Romney is a conservative. They argue conservative principles are better, which we already know, then they equate conservative principles to voting for Romney, which absolutely jumps the shark.

We don't have the numbers to put it over. That's why Romney decided he didn't want our votes in the first place.

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?391511-We-CAN-T-FIX-STUPID!

Our strength isn't in our own numbers. Our strength was that we had independent voters, and more than a few disaffected Democrats, all lined up to vote for a principled conservatism as the best defense against corporatism.

And we told Republicans this at the time, and we told them Ron Paul could be thumping Obama about now (and he would be, and we had the polls to prove it). But they decided to listen to Limberger and Hannity, instead of listening to reason.

This is not our fault. We couldn't pull their gonads out of the fire even if we were ever given one good reason to, much less if we hadn't been disenfranchised and spit on. The Republican Party is broken; we didn't break it, and no one wants to help us fix it. So go cry on someone else's shoulder.

Do I have to make this my sig? We didn't break it and, though we know how to fix it, we can't fix it alone. Period. Say it over and over and over until these stubborn mules get it.

Or you hold your nose like I am going to do and vote for the lesser of two evils because you think that one person might destroy the country and a slower pace then the other, hence buying time for us to make actual headway before a complete and utter collapse of the country.

I understand those of you who say that you should always vote with your principles. I would never try and talk you out of it, and I think it is far more noble an idea than what I am going to do. But I hope you realize that the other side also has merit.

Sincerely,

So I take it you voted for Romney?

Pathetic.

A Mitt supporter on another site posted that video for me, and this was my response:

Its a nice video.. And Bill makes a good case.. Rand Paul would probably agree with him 100%.. All I can say is that at the 5:00 minute mark where he talks about how he will support any primary action against Romney in 2016 including the destruction of the Republican party if he doesnt keep his promises... Well, all I can say is that how Bill Whittle will feel in 2016 is how I feel today. Probably how Ive felt since I first voted in 1992 for Perot.

Romney has said he would repeal Obamacare by executive order.

If he could do that then he could certainly end the department of education by executive order, or legalize silver currency by executive order, or simply vow to veto any and every unbalanced budget...

If he pledged to do any of those 3 things, Id be happy to vote for him in 2012, and if he back pedaled on any of them I would be happy to ride his ass out on a rail in 2016.

Well, I certainly don't like the 2, one of which will be POTUS... but frankly I DO agree with Whittle on the importance of the election. I just don't know how I could ask any of my fellow PAUL supporters to AGREE, after the shitty way the party & Romney campaign did PAUL & us. If I *was* in a swing state, you can bet your ass I would have cast MY vote for ROMNEY today. Being that I am in SC, I cast a vote instead for Gary Johnson. I see no sense in writing in Ron Paul anywhere, BUT I would encourage everyone to VOTE for someone or some thing, rather than simply not partake of our precious process.

The stain of evil is upon the fingers of anyone who voted for Romney or Obama today.

Completely agree with this, +rep. You try and justify your support of the one party machine any way you need to SlutterMcgee, but in the end you are supporting the whole charade if you vote for it.

Everyone's vote is their own. Everyone in this thread supported Ron in the primary, let's not attack ourselves.
