The campaign has proven they can't be trusted with the money we gave them. Now is the time for us to coordinate our effort and donate all new money to Lord Xar's PAC, the Blimp, etc. No more rewards for incompetence.

Bullshit! Why so this incompetence can keep happening! Why is it that everything was disorganized. Where were the state coordinators? Why didn't these people get what they need? This is why we need to efficently facillitate this process by becoming more organized here, with a strategic planning/coordination forum for New Hampshire, and then South Carolina and Florida, and other crucial states as they arise. We have ONE MONTH and then its Super Tuesday and its just going to take care of itself.

- not 100% sure what happened

- they should have databse backups both local and periodically on other media

- if someone sabotaged it to sink us out of a potential third I hope they rot in hell for life. if someone sent them i hope it is uncovered.

The campaign cannot effectively coordinate this, at least as much as we can. We could have had buses there in Iowa if we saw the need. We could have ensured that we did everything we could to get Ron Paul votes in.

As people have said before, decentralization makes something like that tragedy impossible.

Now people are saying we should be better organized? What happened didn't happen to the decentralized grassroots portion of the campaign, it happened to an area where people relied on a centralized organized core that is easily destroyed by infiltrators.

"Organizing" us requires leadership which really equals easy sabotage on a massive scale.

A bottom up campaign is not powerful enough (intimidation-wise) to prevent sabotage. It is not made up of trusted insider allies, we all very recently came to know one another.

If you try to "organize" this whole thing between a bunch of people you haven't known-for-years you are only trying to make things exponentially worse.

I got pretty far along on that route. No one knew me, I went to the Iowa straw poll, met people, joined all the meetups in Virginia and traveled to them, build pauls parachute, built pauls petition and headed the drive. it was working for a while until the campaign came along. I've been screaming this "incompetence" for a while, first as disbelief, then in anger. The campaign is beyond worthless. Wake up folks, get organized. In short, raise some money and start a parallel campaign. It may be too late now, but can't wait until 2012 now can you?

I'm so over the campaign and working for naught but sign waving while the politics of winning get hampered down to reverse gear, I'm simply fighting the Real ID legislation. I'm not sure how the campaign can stop me but they have already taken my web designer right out from under me.

Anyone care about Real ID and realize we have just six weeks left to fight it in Virginia? Didn't the campaign tell you?

I, for one, am highly skeptical of this post. I was actually MAKING TELEPHONE CALLS on the night before the Iowa Caucus. I was working with the data that was e-mailed to me from the database, and there was nothing wrong with it.

So don't trust everything you hear just because it's posted on these message boards.

In any event, the campaign has now put in place a great program for Precinct Captains, and the system prints out hard copy PDF lists for each Precinct Captain to use, as well as having a live database that can be shared.

We're on track to deliver for Super Tuesday. Let's focus on THAT!

1) Sign up for the Precinct Captain program
2) Drive around and check the addresses in your precinct for Ron Paul signs - easiest place to start!
3) Ask the Ron Paul supporters you find in your precinct and other Ron Paul supporters from your meet-up group to help make calls and walk the precinct to find more supporters.
4) Get those new supporters to help you make more phone calls and precinct walks. This is called the "snowball effect."
5) Use the notes field to record notes about the voters in your precinct. Keep the hard copy printouts as well as entering notes in the database.

All of the information would be in the forum, all of it could be disseminated and stored on everyone's computer.... we couldn't be touched, we could back up the forum on other websites so in case we went down at the strategic moment, we'd have recent backups ready to be used....

Truly we have seen the enemy and it isn't the MSN. It's the Ron Paul campaign. It makes sense. They get paid either way so why would they care about how good a job they are doing and no matter how much we complain, nothing changes. They will screw us over again and again in the future. Sure, everyone forget about Iowa and instead lets think about how the campaign will fail us in Wyoming and then NH. This thread makes me madder then anything I have read so far.

You really need to take a break. Do you really think elections are all sunshine and lollipops? Ron Paul has been standing alone fighting this battle for 30 years and your post is out of line.
