Active Shooter San Bernardino - Shooters on the loose

Yeah, we need to have them at every gathering so they can defend us. Everybody should have their own personal cop, ready to help them should the need arise. Kinda thought that's what owning and carrying your own weapon was all about.

That's how rich people do it.

It shouldnt be just for the rich though. a personal cop should be considered a basic human need, like food, water, and internet.

San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook was in touch over the phone and via social media with more than one international terrorism subject who the FBI were already investigating, law enforcement officials said.

It appears that Farook was radicalized, which contributed to his motive, though other things -- like workplace grievances -- may have also played a role, other law enforcement sources said.

Don't know that depends, where he or the weapon holder bought the rifle/weapon.

Having some gun laws like we do here in Canada has prevented a large number of gun related shootings like the ones in America and the most guns/rilfes that the police are finding out here.

Are illegally transported somehow apparently.

The only weapons that you can buy in Canada currently are hunting rifles and hunting rifles and its not easy getting them.

Doing a little crystal balling eh? What guns does your government have? and that should be the end of story at this site.

Fear mongering and infringing on an individuals right to defend themselves against those who would harm them will always get a neg rep from me. How dare you screw with a weaker human's needs and personal defense evaluation. Disgusting.

I would encourage you to go get yourself in a situation where you have been "de-gunned" or "out gunned" and see how quickly your attitude on another's ability to defend their life changes.

Personally, I never trust the MSM; how do we know these were the shooters? The story is very convenient.

If it turned out the police killed "suspects" were not the actual shooters, it will be a huge scandal that could bring down Police Chief of San Bernadino as it happened in case of Chicago Police chief getting fired this week. Still it is possible that cops shot the right suspects.

It is true that MSM is quite untrustworthy, let's wait till multi-prong investigations are completed and all the facts come out.

who gave the serbians assault rifles.......Where did they get the ordinance and artillery??????

True. Who gave the French terrorists AK's when they are banned in France - let alone the suicide vests.

These two are terrorists. Reports Farook was in contact with a known terrorist in the Middle East. Gun control never would have stopped this. Reported 2 of the 4 guns were legally purchased. I'm guessing the handguns. California has an assault weapons ban. Same as France. Not stopping terrorists from getting heavy fire power and explosives.

Well, it looks like the party was for government workers, so we can be thankful they didn't target humans this time.

Farook was a government agent himself. Where are the cries from Washington to massively increase surveillance on government employees?

The shame of this is - here comes more police state. Here comes more secret surveillance. Here comes tattle tale neighbors if you are a gun owner. There goes our liberty. I expect more attacks like this in the U.S. and this country will become even more of a prison where you are essentially stripped of your freedom to move about without being stopped or watched by even more police and other armed government agents who will be hired.

Someone had mentioned here that when any old act of violence in America becomes "terrorism", we are treading some dangerous waters. That is likely the most profound thing I've read in this thread. As was mentioned, terrorists don't have rights. So, then, that is something important to think about. I suppose that I'm reminded of those thoughts given the previous poster's thoughts here. What is at stake may be our very citizenship or identity. Just in reading thoughts from people elsewhere on the Internet demanding that it be called terrorism just because they want something to support their anti-Muslim narrative is frightening given the consequences. The average Joe on the Internet doesn't seem to think things all the way through. Scwewy stuff, for sure.

laws won't solve this

Neither will having more guns on the streets. That wont solve anything. Expect it will cause more gun deaths, gun related shootings, how many states again have some restrictions on preventing the mentally ill or those who the CIA are tracking to prevent from buying again?

Oh that's right none of the red States do.

I wont be surprised if one of these weapons turn up...

Perhaps you Canadians need more laws making it to transport illegal weapons into Canada. I realize your existing laws are solving the problem, but that mean another law won't solve it. Have you guys tried stickers yet? I hear those save lives.

P.S.
Why does Canada still have a foreign queen?

Updated info. Some reports had said he went to Saudi Arabia "recently" and brought home a bride. Other reports said they have been married for two years. They have a six month old daughter which means that "recently" was more than a year ago. Her passport is Pakistani- not Saudi. She was on a K-1 Visa which is given to the fiance of a US citizen. Under such a visa, you have 90 days to get married or be deported. His travels included a visit to Pakistan. She entered the US in July, 2014.

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...rnardino-shootings-what-we-know-one-day-after

The attack began on Wednesday morning, at an office holiday party in the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino. The center provides social services to residents with developmental disabilities, but the shooting was focused on an office party for San Bernardino County staff.

As a county employee, Farook was at the party. At some point he left in anger, Burguan says.

He returned with Malik.

Both were dressed in "tactical gear" (including load-bearing vests, but not ballistic or bulletproof vests) and carrying .223-caliber assault-style rifles and semiautomatic handguns, police say.

The weapons used in the shooting were legally purchased, Burguan says: The handguns were purchased by Farook, and authorities are still investigating who purchased the rifles.

Farook and Malik entered the Inland Regional Center and fired between 65 and 75 rifle rounds, Burguan said Thursday.

A bomb — three explosive devices, linked to a remote control car and placed inside a bag — was also discovered at the shooting site, but it failed to go off, Burguan said.

After the chase and killing of the suspects authorities went back to the house.

Police discovered a stockpile of ammunition and explosives inside the house, Burguan said Thursday, including thousands of rifle and handgun rounds and 12 pipe bombs, with the materials and tools to create more.

Investigators also removed thumb drives, cellphones and other electronic items from the house, Burguan said.

"Body armor" was later said to be tactical vests- cloth with lots of pockets for extra ammo and equipment. They were said to have emptied four magazines in the attack.

We dont she's just symbolic, but if Harper was elected again then yeah we would be having her.

Obama is an embarrassment and we're still kissing Saudi ass. Saudis provide nothing to the world other than radicalize people and oppress with their barbaric form of Islam, build a bunch of tall buildings and fund terror.

I heard late last night that a person at the party was in the restroom and then heard and explosion and was pelted by shrapnel through the wall. He also said their was no argument he just left and left his jacket. Anyone hear this also?

An unexploded device was found but no reports of one going off at the party.

Has media published any confirmed reports if the shooters were taking Paxil or some other prescription drugs?

Sometimes such reports come out soon after mass shootings and sometimes they are covered up.

[h=3]Media Buries Psychiatric Drug Connection to Navy Shooter[/h]

Every mass shooting over last 20 years has one thing in common... and it's not guns

• Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Columbine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold's medical records have never been made available to the public.

• Jeff Weise, age 16, had been prescribed 60 mg/day of Prozac (three times the average starting dose for adults!) when he shot his grandfather, his grandfather's girlfriend and many fellow students at Red Lake, Minnesota. He then shot himself. 10 dead, 12 wounded.

• Cory Baadsgaard, age 16, Wahluke (Washington state) High School, was on Paxil (which caused him to have hallucinations) when he took a rifle to his high school and held 23 classmates hostage. He has no memory of the event.

• Chris Fetters, age 13, killed his favorite aunt while taking Prozac.

• Christopher Pittman, age 12, murdered both his grandparents while taking Zoloft.

• Kip Kinkel, age 15, (on Prozac and Ritalin) shot his parents while they slept then went to school and opened fire killing 2 classmates and injuring 22 shortly after beginning Prozac treatment.

• Billy Willkomm, an accomplished wrestler and a University of Florida student, was prescribed Prozac at the age of 17. His family found him dead of suicide – hanging from a tall ladder at the family's Gulf Shore Boulevard home in July 2002.

• Kara Jaye Anne Fuller-Otter, age 12, was on Paxil when she hung herself from a hook in her closet. Kara's parents said ".... the damn doctor wouldn't take her off it and I asked him to when we went in on the second visit. I told him I thought she was having some sort of reaction to Paxil...")

• Gareth Christian, Vancouver, age 18, was on Paxil when he committed suicide in 2002, (Gareth's father could not accept his son's death and killed himself.)

• Julie Woodward, age 17, was on Zoloft when she hung herself in her family's detached garage.

• Matthew Miller was 13 when he saw a psychiatrist because he was having difficulty at school. The psychiatrist gave him samples of Zoloft. Seven days later his mother found him dead, hanging by a belt from a laundry hook in his closet.

• Kurt Danysh, age 18, and on Prozac, killed his father with a shotgun. He is now behind prison bars, and writes letters, trying to warn the world that SSRI drugs can kill.

• Matti Saari, a 22-year-old culinary student, shot and killed 9 students and a teacher, and wounded another student, before killing himself. Saari was taking an SSRI and a benzodiazapine.

• Steven Kazmierczak, age 27, shot and killed five people and wounded 21 others before killing himself in a Northern Illinois University auditorium. According to his girlfriend, he had recently been taking Prozac, Xanax and Ambien. Toxicology results showed that he still had trace amounts of Xanax in his system.

• What drugs was Jared Lee Loughner on, age 21...... killed 6 people and injuring 14 others in Tuscon, Az?

• What drugs was James Eagan Holmes on, age 24..... killed 12 people and injuring 59 others in Aurora Colorado?

• What drugs was Jacob Tyler Roberts on, age 22, killed 2 injured 1, Clackamas Or?

• What drugs was Adam Peter Lanza on, age 20, Killed 26 and wounded 2 in Newtown Ct?

Before I answer your question in more detail in other forum section, care to point out what is negative about this comment on Ben Carson's visit with Islamic Syrian refugees? Isn't it factually accurate?

Maybe you missed this thread about Trump yesterday. Short answer is that Trump is an obvious hotair bag and I'm not too unhappy about reck that he is causing to GOP.

Sounds like they were all angry, alienated teenagers (only two over the age of 23). Which came first- being nuts and angry and being given medicine to try to control it? Or were they normal kids and given the medicines and then went nuts? What was the cause/ effect? Thousands are on those medicines and DON'T kill anybody or commit acts of violence. Do the drugs turn everybody into mass killers?
