(10/26/11) Ron Paul on Fox News - Official Thread

I think you need to learn that Ron Paul is Ron Paul and deal with it.

I know. It just seems like part of Ron's personality is that sometimes he's just extremely stubborn. He just won't change the way that he phrases the issues in order to reach out to more GOP voters.

That's really only your opinion. He is a human being and that is exactly what's attracted many of his followers. I think he did a good job considering the panel. You sound like a neocon in Ron Paul clothes.

ROFLMAO

I'm sorry, some of you can get mad at me all you want to, but Dr. Paul has to step up his game. His answers about bin Laden, Iran and the fence were horrid. There is no excuse for it either. This is by far not the first time he has been asked about these.

Where the hell is Doug Wead?

You really hit the nail on the head. It does not sound good to neocons, hell it didn't even sound good to me. Ron must do better.

He needs more than that. I know a number of people who are concerned that he would not defend our country, if an attack was imminent, or for that matter, if we were flat out bombed.

This should be extremely easy to put to rest.

Conservatives will NOT vote for someone they do not believe will defend the country. It is way past time for Dr. Paul to make this abundantly clear. He CANNOT seem weak.

Exactly. You can support a non interventionist foreign policy and still sound strong on national security issues.

Sitting around and critiquing him accomplishes absolutely nothing. I do what I can do and let Ron Paul and his campaign do what they are going to do.

LE is a strong supporter who wants Ron to win, and is in no way a neocon.

The concern is perception, not substance.

I have no view because I have no tube.... :(
The point is, he did fine on the interview. LE's nonstop negativity and bashing every time Paul doesn't live up to his expectations is just unrealistic dreaming.

I just embedded the broken links from above.

commercials and all, it seems! Thanks to whomever.

Ron seemed much stronger on immigration in 2007. He needs to do an end around on the fence issue and address attacking mandated benefits for illegals. Nip it in the bud, no incentives, much less illegal immigration and at a fraction of the cost of building an 800 mile wall that won't work anyway. Combine that with increased border security = Win!

He really should be better prepared on the fence, Iran, and bin Laden questions.

For example:

The fence: They're already trying to push a nat'l ID through. They're listening to our phone calls, reading our emails, scanning us naked, groping our privates, and limiting freedom of movement. The TSA is stationed all over TN. We have Constitution-free zones that cover our borders to 50 (?) miles in. These all represent a ceiling, not a floor.

Bin Laden: I called for Letter of Marque and Reprisal back in Oct. of '01. We should have taken him alive. He would have been more valuable to us that way. Same with al-Awlaki.

Iran: He did great on when he said the intelligence agencies have no proof they have a nuke. But he should say something about how sanctions only hurt the people, not the governments. As far as getting a nuke goes, stick w/ the less nukes, the better. And Israel would wipe them off the map like *that.* :snap:

They are suggestions, Tina. Since I have been a conservative all my life, I know what appeals to them and what does not. Real conservatives; not neocons. Paul appearing weak on national defense may be a big plus to a leftist, but it doesn't play well with traditional conservatives. I know that Paul isn't weak; I just want him to drive that home.

I want him to win, Tina. To do that, he first has to get the Republican nomination.

This was Ron's big chance. 30 minutes in front of 2M+ people, with a chance to make them understand his foreign policy and stop them being afraid of it. I wish he would let Doug Wead prep him properly.

Dammit you can understand the huge pressure, but all it takes is for him to slow down and have a few talking points on the big issues :(.

Suggestions to who? You are ranting on a forum, that is all.

Almost everything out of Ron's mouth in the on-air segment has been typed by Rockwell over the last few weeks. Also reiterated his desire to move towards free trade and travel across borders.

Thumbs up.

So you've really come down to the who supported him longer argument?

Yeah, dude, if you are going to make these asinine types of statements:
I think you need to learn that Ron Paul is Ron Paul and deal with it.

I think I damn well know who and what Ron Paul is.

Deal with it.
