"1.5 Million and I'm in!"

Dragging this out to me seems disingenuous, he really needs to shit or get off the pot.

I'm fairly certain he was planning to officially announce once he hit the 1 mil mark. This new moneybomb wasn't his idea. If he was smart (and we know he is) he'd announce once he surpasses 1 mil before the moneybomb.

I mean Peter, It's cool and all that you predicted the economic collapse and that you are a constitutionalist and I hate to be the one to burst your bubble on this one but MONEY DOESN'T GROW ON TREES.

I'm really starting to wonder about ole Peter. He needs to announce now and start campaigning before I make another charge to my card.

An announcement would get badly needed media and name recognition in the area. After all, no matter how much money you have if nobody votes for you you don't win.

You have only so many months before the primary strikes. That's the real big battle- sheer momentum will probably carry Schiff over with a primary victory (and more importantly, establishment support)

He should announce on Labor Day Weekend, irrespective of the total gathered.

If I understand what Peter said correctly, he's not saying that he will only run on the condition that he breaks 1.5 million, just that he will run for sure if he breaches that number. I don't think his words rule out an announcement after 1 million or so.

Common guys....

I mean... Do we trust Peter or not?

Obviously, if you've already donated, then I'm assuming you're going to trust Peter with the US Senate Seat and that he'll return your donation if he decides not to run.

You should NOT be worried that he's going to "take your money and run".

It would be political, and BUSINESS suicide for Peter if he did not keep his promise and return the donations.

I'm a client of Peter and if he smelled of the slightest mistrust, I would close my account ASAP.

I don't think Peter is willing to sacrifice EuroPac integrity for 1.5 Million in political donations.

He did say he'd return all of the money if he doesn't run, didn't he?

The point is most of the members here already overspent on Rand Paul and other Liberty candidates. Raising 1.5 million in a few weeks is impossible. Just look at Rand Paul's campaign, he hasn't even reached 750,000 yet.

That could be a valid point. If people are tapped they are tapped.

Maybe we need to re-focus and concentrate on getting 1 instead of spreading ourselves too thin.

I'd prioritize Peter Schiff over Rand Paul.

What do you think?

From my view:
1) Peter is more tied into economics and markets - it's what we need to fix the economy.

2) Peter has the lead in donations.

3) Peter can really hit hard and take on the critics, with on-the-fly free market arguments.

peter needs to just announce already as others have said there is only so much time and it is wasting

its hard for me to imagine he isnt going to run and the later he waits to announce the longer till a lot of folks will take him seriously

there is a campaign ha needs to be waged and time is a wastin

I guess you haven't been paying close attention to the races. Take a look at the polling that has been done. Rand's race is easily winnable, and he's not going to need that much money. Peter doesn't even register single digit support in the polls and he's claiming he will need 20 million dollars.

Smells like a scam. What happens if he actually declares-- "500,000 per month to keep me in it!".

Does Peter own any real estate in a non-extradition country?

This is not a scam.. Peter knows this is going to be a very expensive race and wants to be sure he can raise the money. He was probably motivated by the prospect of Linda McMahon entering the race and using $25 million of her own money.
