    Voting in Ron Paul Gear

I'm wearing every piece of RP clothing I own! I thought it was illegal, from having worked the polls in 2008, but I checked the MD board of elections website and it looks like it's ok!

    RNC Rule 38

I'm suddenly feeling rather giddy. So we just need to load up on delegates in WTA states - FL, TX, NY, CA in particular. I picked the wrong year to live abroad... :o

This Is A Promising Way Of Looking At Things

Your list got me wondering... When is the earliest that RP could claim to win a state from your list? Here is the list of dates for the various conventions in each state. I also threw in Nevada and Colorado at the bottom. Iowa - June 16 Minnesota - Apr 14 - 21 (District) May 4 - 5 (at-large)...

hey, i just noticed that Colorado is also double-counted in your list, under Romney and Santorum. So I guess Rom is down to 18...

Do we have any shot at picking up a plurality of delegates in CO?

FYI, you have Georgia under Romney. So he only has 19 once you take that out. GA is also listed (correctly) under Newt. But thanks, this is a good synopsis...

If we fill the conventions in Georgia and Newt wins and then drops out...

Bound for two rounds, unless candidate withdraws or releases them. So yes, the scenario above is true, though it should be noted that GA is proportional, so a newt win would still mean at least some bound delegates for the other three candidates. http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/GA-R#0306

Benton suggests Romney Campaign involved with Caucus Cancellation

Technically, no. both kerry and edwards were re-elected as senators when they ran together in 2004. However, rand's path to reelectionmight not be as easy as theirs.

    Comic Relief

Not to diminish the seriousness of what's going in NV, but I thought everyone could use a chuckle. I certainly needed the laugh when it happened. (I'm an American living in London, so I feel even more out of the loop than most of you.) Note - my wife is pretty liberal, but she's coming over to...

    Help me win someone over

the best response i have to this is that if big business wanted a free market, they would donate millions to him. but when you go to fec.gov or opensecrets.org, you notice that RP gets most of his money as small donations (<$200) and it is Romney and Obama who are getting donations from Goldman...

Has Ron Paul ever said anything to the tune of "I don't think I can get elected" ?

What about that interview with Stephanopolous in the 2008 campaign? Georgie: What's your goal? RP: To win. Georgie: You know that's not gonna happen. If his goal in 2008 was to win, then certainly his goal now is to win also.

Why are there different delegate counts thus far?

Here's the "hard" delegate count: Romney: 59 (FL - 50, NH - 7, SC - 2) Gingrich: 23 (SC - 23) Paul: 3 (NH - 3) Huntsman: 2 (NH - 2) Additionally, I thought I read somewhere that certain party leaders had pledged for Romney already. Note that every state has three delegates for state party...

Ron Paul: In it to Win it

Are we agreed that thegreenpapers.com is the best source for info on delegates and such? I think I'll throw together a spreadsheet with a few different assumptions and see what I come up with.

    Lincoln Super Caucus 1/28/12

I love how Carl Cameron covered the midnight voting of 20 people in NH (with its 12 total delegates), but Maine voting is almost entirely ignored (with 24 delegates). My prediction: if RP wins Maine, the media will suddenly wake up to the reality of the caucus system. They will note that RP...
