Lincoln Super Caucus 1/28/12

Sweet, even if the others team up, we just need the undecideds to come over in order to get the delegates =)

super low turnout caucus ftw

Is there a history of this caucus? Like the two towns that did their primaries at midnight in NH?

I don't think so. There's a caucus today in Unity. Unity has a college. 500 kids. The caucus location is .9 miles from the college.

Do you think the Facebook ads that Christopher David made for Iowa targeting young males for GOTV would be helpful here? What are the caucus details? Anyone can register and vote?

I hope all those who voted for Ron stuck around to become delegates. From what I've read in various news articles, most delegate spots in '08 weren't filled. There were multiple cases where towns could send up to 9 delegates to the state convention but only got 4 or 5 people volunteer!

wow thats 47%... if all of maine turned out like that.....

I'm pretty sure I remember spotting a RP sign in Unity in '08. Total anecdotal evidence, but still.

I know somebody planning to go to the Waldo county caucus next week, I'll find out the results and post them.

I love how Carl Cameron covered the midnight voting of 20 people in NH (with its 12 total delegates), but Maine voting is almost entirely ignored (with 24 delegates).

My prediction: if RP wins Maine, the media will suddenly wake up to the reality of the caucus system. They will note that RP won a *non-binding* straw poll and that zero delegates were allocated. Forget the fact that Iowa works exactly the same way and zero delegates have been allocated there, we'll just trivialize this particular state (that RP happens to win), while simultaneously over-emphasizing the impact of a state that RP didn't win.

I think you may have nailed it. They'll talk about the others' delegates to date, with Ron's being "non-binding" so typical.

of course they will, but it will get easier for people to jump aboard the ron paul train with the more states we win.
