I don't know. Nobody attacking Paul (a good thing), mixed with him being pushed to the side of the stage, could also come off as fringe. Regardless, I thought this was still a pretty good debate. I also think it's rather ridiculous that the person with the second most delegates is on the side...

From what I've heard, Davis' endorsement has been highly sought after (candidates have been courting him for his endorsement). Wish I could remember where I read that. And if he's as influential as it sounds, hopefully he'll get out there and stump for Paul like Nikki Haley and John McCain are...

Santorum isn't gaining meaningful traction in NH, at least not yet. If you're going to attack anybody in NH, it'd be Romney. Santorum poses a more significant threat in SC.

I agree with that, except we need Huntsman to do well enough to stay in through SC and I guess FL (might as well throw that state on the pile). Something like this: Romney 32% Paul 25% Huntsman 15% Enough to hopefully encourage Huntsman to continue to split the Romney vote in SC.

Look at it from Romney's perspective. He considers the nomination all but wrapped up and he's the winner. He knows that he needs Paul's supporters (if he had any doubts, tonight killed them) to win in the general election. He's trying to keep us in the fold. Gingrich, Santorum and Huntsman...

I've always held that as far as fiscal conservatism goes, Perry was the second choice in this group. Who else is talking about real cuts to the size of government (other than Paul, of course)?

Disagreeing with positions isn't marginalizing. Marginalizing is things like Santorum calling people disgusting.

It's a bit disappointing but, the turnout is the best we could hope for considering the standings. It's close enough that you can't spin it as a loss for either Romney, Santorum or Paul. Considering the support and money situation of the 3, it's down to Romney and Paul still. It's not as good...
