You're not going to believe this audio - Nueces County Texas Republican Convention

Is there any recourse at all? Any rules that can be invoked to have a new convention or something?

I wanted to also mention that at the beginning of the convention there were other Paul supporters that wanted to give speeches for Ron Paul but were stopped by the chair. He said Ron Paul wasn't running and didn't give them any chance to rebut or anything(I was in the platform committee meeting at that time so wasn't present to see it). Also, at the end while we were waiting for the junior delegates to get ready to do their thing, another Paul supporter politely requested that a speech be allowed for Ron Paul while we waited. The chair again closed it down. So it's not like we had a smooth ride either. However, I believe the bigger picture is not convincing a few hacks that he's running or getting him more exposure at this point. The point now is to get in and get a lawful candidate on our ballots next November so Americans have the opportunity to choose a candidate who has worked so hard for them instead of against them.

They already held a rump convention. Now it comes down to challenging the existing one and getting the rump delegate seated at State. The challenges are due at the end of this month and are being finalized.

27.b(1) State Convention
Filing of Challenge. The credentials of any delegate or alternate to the State Convention may be challenged by any person who voted in the Republican General Primary and who resides in the same county or senatorial district as the delegate or alternate he wishes to challenge by sending to the State Chairman and to the delegate(s) or alternate(s) to whom such challenge relates a written challenge specifying the grounds for the challenge and detailing the specific rule or rules alleged to have been violated.
The challenge shall be sent via certified or registered mail no later than thirty (30) days following the date of the county or senatorial district convention. The State Chairman shall deliver all such challenges to the Republican State Officials Committee (as constituted in the bylaws of the SREC).

11.b Convention Officials Listed -- Challenge
Challenge * Any officer or committee chairman of any convention, whether it be in temporary or permanent organization, who intentionally violates the Rules of the Republican Party of Texas or the directives of the Texas Election Code, shall be subject to a challenge filed under the provisions of Rule 27; and if such challenge is upheld by the convention which hears the challenge, that officer or committee chairman shall be removed from serving as a delegate to any convention of the Party at any level throughout the year.

So, do you guys have any legal recourse here? If they violated convention rules, can you file some sort of motion-type thingie?

Sorry, I don't even know how the delegate process works. We got thrown out of ours, because their "computers were broken", and we didn't have our voter registration cards.:D

This is sickening. They write the rules, we follow them, we're more intelligent than them, they get mad, they break the law, and then try and fuck us over.

Did somebody mention John McCain? I thought I heard his style described to a tee.

P.S. Ever hear of McCain-Feingold, Mr. Mann? Otherwise, the term rules would probably be more accurate...

lolz! McCain-Feingold + McCains FEC problems? Didn't even think about how well what I said earlier fit with that.

To top it off, McCain has now decided to TAKE the public funds for the general election since he can't hold a candle to the dems fund raising. So McCain has now used public funds that he signed up for to guarantee a loan, then backed out of public financing to continue fund raising for the primaries and now has opted back in for public funds. WTF? Maybe he wrote the bill specifically for this election? He sure seems to know how to circumvent it at will.

What law was broken for those that keep saying they broke the law?

The ROBERTS RULE OF ORDER was broken! Along with Party guidelines.

The Texas GOP will now decide what to do.

holy shit. they vote on the list with people screaming "point of order". I can't believe what I'm hearing.

Bump, plus if they try to pull something similar....just run up to the Chairman, etc and try to speak into a mic...any mic, yell if you have to that the Chairman is out of order.

First words should be.
"I am a McCain supporter, and that is out of order!" (If you were to run on stage and take over the mic whilst the chairman is there.) haha.
