You're all welcomed to Canada...!

The darned thing of it WAS that we were originated to be the finest country in the world. There were NONE organized by such ideals, and such a consitution. We were brave and free and peaceful. We were not scared, oil grabbing war mongers. I guess, so far, the American experiment just didn't work. And that is ONLY because of our failure to follow the rules we SWORE and still SWEAR to uphold.

We are very welcoming to visitors.

Canada Shuts Doors to US War Resisters

welcome visitors!!!! now get the hell out of here, and don't let the door hit you in the ass.

During the Vietnam War, between 30,000 and 60,000 draft dodgers sought sanctuary in Canada. Veterans of that fight say the atmosphere in Canada today is very different than it was during the 1960s and 70s.

"Our government is pretty clear that it is pro-[George W.] Bush and [wants to] reassure Americans that the Canadian border is very secure," said Leigh Zaslofsky, who fled the United States in 1970 and now coordinates Canada's War Resister Support Campaign.

"When I deserted I was able to apply for permanent residency and obtain it there if I passed a points assessment so that's what I did," he said, "and I was readily admitted to Canada as a permanent resident and didn't have to worry about being sent back to the United States."

We failed our founding fathers, they gave us our republic and challenged us to keep it. We lost our country- and if we have any dignity left, we will fight for our country and take our freedoms back.

Whats all this talk of cutting and running? Things are just about to get interesting.

And the fact is, there will be no need to fight if things keep going the way they are. The government will simply go broke.

Why bother? It appears that the majority of your fellow citizens don't give a damn about liberty, peace, honesty, or constitutionally limited government.

Today, I'm ashamed to call myself an American.

I have been not proud for a long time. RP gave me hope. Now we might have someone who cries in public as a President. Wife of a public philanderer, and CFR member. I think the US will not let us go easily to another country, either. I think we are screwed now, and we have identified ourselves, so we may as well fight. First for RP for President. Then, knowing the conswquences, ignore taxes, census, ID cards, drafts, and anyhing else they try to cram up our butts. Fill up their court systems, prisons, and graveyards with TRUE American Patriots.

Belize
population 100,000
ron paul supporter= 100,000
no taxes now, we can use the US constitution, heck they won't be using it.

That's actually my plan. 2013, if things go well. I'll be 36, retired, and living in Paradise with my fellow Ron Paul supporters. (I actually had this plan a year ago, before I heard of Ron Paul. His campaign gave me hope for the country. Now I see the voting patterns of America, and I'm more resolved than ever to make it happen)

Looks like the Lakota Nation has the best plan overall. Just became sovereign and is inviting us to be part of their nation. You just have to renounce your U.S. citizenship and you are in,
pretty much. And the way it is shaping up here, renouncing would be a good thing.

Riiight..8/10 people are drunks or drug addicts. 800% more tuberculosis and 800% more diabetes than the US. Main income level less than $4000 per year..60% have no way to heat..oh they are a great country..a remnant of what we did to them..

Canada's gun laws are more restrictive than those in the US. That's all I need to know about Canadian freedom.

You don't if you have some viable reason. Like you are a refugee or have family here. But we do not legally admit poor people without skills....they would not be productive members. Contrary to what some have said in this thread Canada has a very discriminatory immigration policy.

So--how rich do you need to be?

Fat lot of good your "gun freedoms" have been against your militarized police state. Did they help you stop your government from confiscating your gold in 1933? (Or in the case of Liberty Dollar, 2007?)

I think you should listen to Ron Paul more. One of the essential points he makes is that your government routinely and totally acts against your constitution - every word and clause, including the second amendment.

Quit spouting Fox News myths about other countries and keep working hard to improve yours. The rest of us around the world are truly pulling for you.

Not a multi millionaire, but enough so that you could supply some investment. Like buying a home and starting a business. Education is the big thing up here. If you have a professional degree (PhD, MD, P.Eng/P.E) you would not have too much of a problem. You also have to learn about and be tested on our history and system of government.

Maybe I'll move up to Washington and have some border commerce. I'll import some good California booze to Canada.

Estonia and Ireland both are moving in the direction of more freedom, and have businesses flocking there.

What you say has quite a bit of truth... every American thinks we are hope for the world. Yet some countries out there follow certain parts of the bill of rights better than us. :/

Good points. We don't have those freedoms either, we just have less ENFORCEMENT of certain regulations in certain instances, and no enforcement of the Constitution that would prevent it.

I still don't think that Canada is the answer. The reality is, guys... there's nowhere to go. You can pick and choose countries that are more free in one aspect or another, but the New World Order is on the march. Personally, I'm waiting to see what happens with the Native American tribes' secession in Northern midwest, but I'm not entirely convinced that that would result in a freer place to live yet.
