You don't win by quitting... (Ron is still a Republican)

This isn't about 'winning' or 'losing'.

I'm not here to play the game of politics.

I want the wars over. I want the spending curtailed. I want our civil liberties restored.

I do not think the majority of the Republican party will ever truly want any of these things. And I don't think TPTB would let you truly take the party over.

There are always some that insist that in order to change the system, you must join the system and work within it. Give us another 4 years, they say. Another decade. Twenty years. More. And how well has this change from the inside worked out? Well, just look at what we have in Washington now.

You HAVE to be in the political game if you are to accomplish those things. Politics is the ajudication of power and if you don't have that power someone else will, and those other people won't care about liberty. Politics is human nature, and humans always have and always will seek to dominate others. The only thing we can do is to acquire power for ourselves in the hopes of keeping others from getting it, then we diffuse it and make it hard for it to be consolidated again in the future. But politics and power will exist whether you acknolowledge it or not.

Well liberty people have taken over the Minnesota and Iowa Republican Parties, as well as others across the country. So we have a working model and have proven that it can be done. Not to mention, even if we can't control the party, we at least need to have enough people in there to stop the neocons and other authortarians from ramming their will down our throats or torpedoing liberty candidates.

That's because the Internet has never existed and been politically functional until now. Ron Paul would likely not have gone anywhere in 2007 if the Internet had not existed.
