Wow..Watching Clint Eastwood is SAD.

I think he is old. Old is better than dead, right?

Depends on your health and on your religious belief. :)

But for a 82-old he's pretty fit from what I've seen. My father is 80 and he is more senile without having Alzheimer's or any other disease. And he is very cautious with his health.

What you probably just saw there was the real Clint. You see a nervous guy on stage, not reciting lines from a movie, but just talking to a crowd. I appreciated watching it just to see something that isn't plastic on the stage.
I'd be surprised if anything makes Clint Eastwood nervous. It'd be like saying Chuck Norris gets nervous. And everyone knows nervous knows not to mess with Chuck Norris.

Besides him taking his time due to supposedly ad-libbing it, I figured the "nervous pauses" were an intentional part of the delivery.

I thought it was a great speech. I don't think the RNC got the fact that he was taking the mickey out of them.

Penn Jilette came with the best defense for the Clint Eastwood speech tonight on Pierce Morgan (CNN) around at midnight, I hope someone was recording it, couldn't stop laughing I was almost in tears. The round table was ripping on Eastwood and Jilette comes in NO NO NO NO NO, who are you to say what Clint Eastwood can and can't say, you let him say anything he wants. He went off on a tangent it was awesome!

I hope video comes out soon. That sounds great!

edit: haha that was funny. The first panel guy looked like his head was about to explode! Penn was great.

After watching Eastwood talk to a chair for 10 minutes, the question remains...

Do we really know about..."the opinion of the chair" ?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77W5OKStO5s&feature=player_detailpage#t=104s

Eastwood, whether he knows it or not (and if this was his goal, he was BRILLIANT), just made it impossible for the nation to ignore the sleazy, underhanded tactics by the RNC, Boehner, Priebus, Romney, etc.

-----

Also, here's video of Reince Priebus trying to make a joke about "the opinion of the chair"

Im waiting for tomorrow's headlines declaring that Clint upstaged Romney.

Romney's team worked so hard to not be upstaged by any speakers (Ron and Sarah in particular) that the last second guy picked to replace a friggin hologram of a dead Reagan ends up taking up twice his alloted time (and could taken more if he wanted), which pushed Romney back about 5 minutes, while criticizing our foreign policy, telling people not to vote for someone they don't actually want, and that politicians are your employees and to never forget that. Then Romney comes out late (on a weeknight, which bit into his viewing time with early to bed types) and has to play the politician on Clint's heels. He got way less applause than Clint too.

You can't make that up. Karma, Mr. Romney, karma. She is a bitch.

HAHHAH i can't wait for that too. Clint cracked me up! I don't ever really watch GOP conventions but I'd have to say if the speakers were all like Clint, I'd probably watch more often.

THIS.

Clint Eastwood gets more applause than Romney.

Imagine the significance of that?

Clint is borderline senile and nearly incoherent.

Romney is just full of rhetoric.

Apparently senile and incoherent achieves more applause.

Maybe Ron Paul should run again when he truly is "too old to be President." :P

Senile and incoherent is totally authentic just like Clint. Full of rhetoric is phony as a three dollar fiat amulet of paper and inauthentic like Rmoney..

Fame is but a vapor. A fortune can be lost in an instant. True character endures forever. Clint has all three categories. Rmoney has two only and they can go with the winds of time and be gone in an instant.

Speech was incredible! I was cheering!

Definitely not normal. At first, I thought it was sad, but then I realized what he was doing. If they're not doing the job, we gotta let 'em go! He slammed Obama better than anyone else on stage.

And he did it while making fun of the GOP!

You guys convinced me. Eastwood was brilliant. I'm still nOt sure how intentional it was, though.

It probably wasn't intentional...but isn't it just priceless?

I think it should be the DOMINANT MEME that gets spread around today and in the weeks leading up to the election. Eastwood will emerge from this as even more of an American Hero than he already is.

This, And I think it WAS intentional. The former Mayor of Carmel is pretty sharp still.
