That was my take too, although he did question the wisdom of going into Afghanistan by talking about the Soviet experience there.
I don't know why people are calling it crazy. I thought he did a good job considering he's the only fucking guy to not blow rainbows out his ass and say bullcrap like "the American people this/that..."
Sorry, but I am passionate in my disdain for the disingenuous. I have more respect for someone who is talking about the voices in their head than I do for anyone else on that stage.
Look at it this way, in one foul swoop Clint Eastwood may have done more to change the mindset of the average republican on war than we did this whole time campaigning for Ron Paul.

He is very backwards when he defends the existence of Guantanamo Bay and makes an inference that prosecuting "terrorists" in courts in NYC or in any u.s. court would not work. He basically told us that we need military tribunals and detention camps because the u.s. judicial system is incapable of having any kind of justice?Then what the fuck does he think is good about the executive branch having that kind of power?

Clint could stay there all night for all I care. He beats the rest of them, besides Ron Paul of course. I like how he said "I think maybe it is a time for a change", he didn't sound too sure about that. LOL! Got to love the guy for being unsure about Romney.
I'm pretty sure he needs to be in a home.
Why, he is an awesome actor and that is what he was doing tonight, acting. He did pretty well, not sure what everyone is complaining about.
He's a damn good actor too. He wasn't reading lines tonight with the chair routine and it was pretty good. BTW, most actors don't read lines, they memorize them.
If they would have booed Clint Eastwood, Obama would have been helped by it, not Romney.
I think he is old. Old is better than dead, right?

Penn Jilette came with the best defense for the Clint Eastwood speech tonight on Pierce Morgan (CNN) around at midnight, I hope someone was recording it, couldn't stop laughing I was almost in tears. The round table was ripping on Eastwood and Jilette comes in NO NO NO NO NO, who are you to say what Clint Eastwood can and can't say, you let him say anything he wants. He went off on a tangent it was awesome!
Aside from my disappointment with him (like Rand) being there to support such a room full of ignorance, I can't agree with the negativity about his presentation. Yes, he's an actor - but actors are often quite different than what you'd expect when you see them outside their craft. What you probably just saw there was the real Clint. You see a nervous guy on stage, not reciting lines from a movie, but just talking to a crowd. I appreciated watching it just to see something that isn't plastic on the stage.
