Trump announces RFK as the Sec of HHS

He may have a point there but what role does the HHS play in Planned Parenthood?

HHS has 80,000 employees

The President’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Budget supports the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) mission to promote the health and well-being of all Americans. HHS proposes $130.7 billion in discretionary and $1.7 trillion in mandatory proposed budget authority for FY 2025.

Do yous think they actually ate this shit or just trashed it after the photo op ?

Really?

McDicks or KFU?

Are they trying to poison him?

And the big question is this: what would he like to do about unhealthy foods in America? Does he want to ban things?

It's a fine line. What amount of poison in food is acceptable? If we really want to look at the "science", defining something as a poison is all about dosage. Substances that can cause fatality in small does is considered poison. How much arsenic can you consume? Is it an essential element in very small amounts? Or a poison? The food (and drug) industry has walked this line forever. Did you eat it and die immediately? No? Must be safe.

So what is the solution? Are labeling standards an answer? That doesn't seem to help in practice.

Banning some ingredients? That may be coming. But who decides what is not allowed? Can Trump still eat his McDonalds?

Well $#@!.

WTF Trump, give RFK Jr the CDC NIH or FDA.

And give the HHS to a pro-lifer who will defund PP.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is a federal agency responsible for overseeing programs that protect the health of all Americans and provide essential human services. It encompasses a wide range of responsibilities and agencies, including but not limited to:

Public Health
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Focuses on public health safety, disease prevention, and response to health threats.
National Institutes of Health (NIH): Conducts medical research and supports biomedical advancements.
Food and Drug Administration (FDA): Regulates food, drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, and tobacco products.

Health Insurance and Services
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS): Oversees Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation and administration.

Social Services
Administration for Children and Families (ACF): Provides funding and guidance for programs like Head Start, child welfare, and foster care.
Administration for Community Living (ACL): Supports programs for older adults and individuals with disabilities.

You're funny, that's why we can get along.

Here's a whole goddamned army descending on the District of Criminals, looking to slash, cut, blow up and !Afuera! in every direction.

So they say.

And yer still bitching.

Brother, as you know I’ve been fighting for liberty for very close to half a century now, and in all that time one of the things I’ve learned, the HARD WAY, is this:

Keeping in mind that virtually ALL of THEIR power is illegitimate, they wield it nonetheless.

And when you’re talking about politics you’re dealing with people who wield the power to devastate or totally destroy lives with virtual impunity. They wield the power to rob from, harass, beat, taze, kidnap, rape and/or murder, usually suffering no consequences whatsoever. They can do this simply with a spoken word, the stroke of a pen or a vote.

And it’s not just you and I, or even the whole damned “liberty movement.” They hold that power over HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE. If you add the people they can destroy in the rest of the world, it comes into the BILLIONS, and for those latter there are even fewer consequences.

My friend, given these circumstances, the ONLY practical, the ONLY prudent, the ONLY SANE position to take is one of EXTREME skepticism. Anything less is naive and irresponsible.

And yet there are MANY even here within the so-called “liberty movement” who are giddily rushing up to give them big warm hugs and wet sloppy kisses on the mouth, obsequiosly and profusely thanking them for SAYING they’re going to lighten the chains a little bit.

Quite frankly, it’s sickening.

Have people become so removed even from a prudent sense of self-preservation? I mean, WTF?

ETA: Oh, and as far as all those wonderful sounding promises are concerned, I have 3 words of caution to offer, Contract with America.

So, you don't really have to ban anything, you can just take the offending ingredients off the FDA-approved list. Let's first understand that when the FDA approves of an ingredient, it removes liability from any company that puts it in their products. By simply removing this cover, it opens the companies up to litigation if there are harmful effects that can be proven by a litigant.

It'll then be up to each company to decide what risk the ingredient has to their bottom line. You know, like it should be in a free country.

Somehow the FDA has been given the power to ban things, approve of things, or stay silent on them. I'm sure most of us oppose the bans, but staying silent can be just as effective - and it's free market. Let's hope RFK follows that path.

Exactly.

Not to mention the first step to changing anything is exposure. If you want justice for COVID, RFK,jr's far more likely to accomplish that in the role of HHS head than a handful of contrarians on a discussion board waxing poetic about how everyone should have their purity cards revoked because they see an opportunity (probably the only real one in 4 years that we've had, to take a swing at Big Pharma) and take it.
