WOW. OBAMA just gave a campaign speech against RON PAUL....

The general election will be fun because it will be an actual battle of different VIEWPOINTS, Obama v Paul, rather than both candidates generally agreeing as in the past.

I agree he needs to do what Mitt tried to do earlier in the race and that's ignore the Republicans and start attacking Obama, making it Obama vs Paul

That's exactly right, and Paul has tons more to go after Obama for; then his GOP rivals. The wars, for example, can rake in a lot of anti war supporters from both sides and in the middle. He needs to stress he is the only candidate with differing views than Obama. Gingrich and Romney agree with Obama on almost everything.

didn't Gingrich also compare himself to Roosevelt?

Yes, just today on the Glenn Beck show. Which makes me think this could be a NEGATIVE for The Grinch with true conservatives. It also shows that Obama wants the Grinch to be the nominee, imo.

right, since when does GOVERNMENT follow the same rules as the rest of the world?

FAIL

Obama said that congressional Republicans "want to go back to the same policies that have stacked the deck against middle-class Americans for too many years."

Go back?! Go back to what time Obama? Yesterday? This morning? The deck has never been so stacked against the middle class as it is today, and you are the President!

I hear all the calls for a Ron Paul response, but let's be strategic here. We are in a winning position when Obama is responding to Ron Paul. We lose that if he starts responding to Obama.

What he could do is give a speech about the utility of the free market and the lack of understanding of those who oppose it. Then he can let Obama respond to that. But he must not relinquish the lead.

I forgot to say, that I got to watch this at the gym. There were two screens broadcasting it, one CNN and the other FOX.

While CNN ran the whole speech, FOX cut out and had Bachmann pushing her book and the "fact" that she is THE ONLY CONSISTENT conservative running.

PUKE.

Obama and handlers are quite aware that the paleocon-libertarian coalition had resurfaced and are gradually taking over the steering wheel of the GOP at the grassroots level. This type of speech is par for the course and highly predictable. They got into power with this misleading rhetoric many years ago and they're sure as hell going to go down fighting with it.

I'm inclined to agree with this line of thinking.
There really is a "change"going on in the country.People are pissed(most don't know why exactly),and the federal reserve is on the front burner.

I believe we(Paulians)are making a bigger impact than we get credit for.

Obviously Obama loves the tax paying and barely surviving Middle Class which is why he passed banker bailouts 2 and 3, aka TARP 2 and 3 on the backs of the Middle Class. And why he continues to devalue the currency via the increases in the money supply via the "stimulus".

Because Ron Paul has never spoken about the effect monetary policies have on the Middle Class, nor has he ever called inflation the "hidden tax on the Middle Class".

RON PAUL HAS NEVER SPOKEN ABOUT THE MIDDLE CLASS!!! THAT HASNT BEEN HIS CONCERN FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS!!!

F YOU OBAMA!!!! AND THE REST OF YOU PHONIES!!! IM MAKING PHONE FROM HOME CALLS RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Well, when you read commentaries on just about any political or economic blog there is always someone talking about Ron Paul or the dangers of the Fed. People like Medved and Limbaugh have been getting pretty pissed off whenever people talk about these topics. The time for liberty has come, imo.

we are easily going to be 1/3rd the delegates at the august tampa convention. potus's people do their polls, too.
they may have spotted a shift and it ain't steady~state flipflop flipflop mitt, nor meteoric moneybags newt gingrich.

LOL..Didn't think of that. I wonder how many former Obama voters are going for Ron Paul.

Barack looks twice in the pan before he sits down just to make sure RP isn't there to bite his bum.

What Obama forgot to mention is that the government and organizations like Acorn were FORCING the banks to make these bad loans while, at the same time, Ron Paul was warning that this would lead to a bubble and crash. In the meantime, Obama was pimping for Acorn!
