WOW. OBAMA just gave a campaign speech against RON PAUL....

Classic straw man.

^this^

I was about to say the same thing. I was reading all the pages of the thread to make sure nobody else had mentioned it yet. Beat me to it.

-----

Isn't there a picture of Ron somewhere with a piece of straw hanging out of his mouth?

Ron Paul eats strawmen for breakfast.

Did anyone watch it?

He was talking about the FREE MARKETS, pre-Teddy Roosevelt.

Wow, just wow.

I'm convinced he knows RON PAUL will be the GOP nominee and he's heading him off at the pass.

He has been saying this for three years.

potus has polling done.

rick perry is not the texan

on this round potus is keeping

a well trained eye on. go figure.

Heard it in the background here at work. It did strike a little bit of a chord with me that he was railing against a lot of what I believe - though he is railing against the misconceptions of the free market.

He is lying. He is railing against crony capitalism in bed with government as he practices crony capitalism while he is in bed with wall street banks. :D Actually, he is railing against the failure of socialism here in America as he watches it fail all around himself. Such an idiot (Oblahma)!

He sees how successful socialism is in Europe and delights that he can do it here, too. Watch us fall faster than a speeding bullet.

He practically has a hard-on as he gleefully presides over the collapse of our economy and theft of the American people's wealth to fulfill his craven agenda.

Please excuse my crassness.

Would be great to see a Ron Paul video go viral where he warns Americans to prepare for the consequences of Keynesianism.

"Robber Barons" for Ron Paul........that's how Axelrod will spin it.

i think you're reading too much into this. Democrats say stuff like that all the time, he's not referring to Ron Paul.
Agreed. He is afraid of Paul. He isn't going to call out Ron Paul's name unless he has to.

Possible Ron response:

"It's always great to know that we have people like Newt Gingrich looking out for us in the wonderful world of big government."

He went there because Teddy Roosevelt apparently went there.

The symbolism! Oh the humanity!

I hear all the calls for a Ron Paul response, but let's be strategic here. We are in a winning position when Obama is responding to Ron Paul. We lose that if he starts responding to Obama.

What he could do is give a speech about the utility of the free market and the lack of understanding of those who oppose it. Then he can let Obama respond to that. But he must not relinquish the lead.

I disagree completely. This is an opportunity to address it as though Obama is against Ron Paul's vision for America, and for Ron Paul to punch through all of the Republican contest nonsense, outflank them all and respond directly to Obama's statement, and solidify himself in the view of the American voters as a fierce opponent to Obama.

This could be a serious breakout moment; to assume, even if not intended to target Paul, but for the sake that it touches fundamental issues Paul stands on, that Obama's words were basically directed at Paul, and for Paul to answer in a verbal contest directly with Obama. If Paul delivers a scathing rebuke, which goes unanswered by Obama, Paul wins in as far as that rebuke is heard across the nation. If Obama responds and turns the fight to Paul, Paul still wins.
