Would a real libretarian give - rep?

well would they?

If a person would give - rep how far off is throwing sticks and stones?

Disliking comments on an internet forum has nothing to do with being libertarian.

reputation: the estimation in which a person or thing is held, especially by the community or the public generally; repute: a man of good reputation.

Reputation is necessary in a free market economy. It signals to others who they should associate and do business with.

I'm giving rep for everyone in this thread and to everyone who has ever given me negative rep in the past and in the future...so get your rep here...

I personally don't because everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if I may not agree with them. I think it's better to state and explain your disagreement with them rather than giving a - rep.

This is exactly how I feel about it too. People make asses out of themselves, they don't need my help to prove they are asses! LOL

hey IterTemporis me being the founding member of the "No - Rep Club" move to make you President. If you so choose to accept the nomination we will need just one other person to join to second the motion so we can get to the first order of business of swearing you in.

I haven't given neg rep in a couple of months. I only give it when someone's completely out of line. Don't give neg rep when you disagree with someone.

I feel too uneasy about giving neg rep to actually give any, even when someone clearly crosses lines. I go for the report button if it's really that bad.

And if you neg rep some people, they might follow you around all over the place neg repping you in retaliation, because it kind of seems like an attack.

I have at least three people doing that to me. I never neg repped them first. I guess I'm just an awful person.

Very well stated, I do the same thing myself.

Something really has to cross the line for a neg rep.

+rep

It depends on the thread. There are some that have sunk by the time I see the ridiculous and jaw-droppingly ignorant response someone crafted for me. Rather than bump the thread and continue to bash my head against the wall, I sometimes neg rep. I am more prone to do this is if someone is new/low-rep so that their little gray or red square says to the world "Psst you might want to look at this person's posting history to see if you think they're as much a goober as they seem to be."

That all said, yeah, it's the internet. :p

I'll tell yall what, as good as it feels giving rep to someone that feels the same as I do, giving it to someone that doesn't is even better. :0)
