I'm going to say something that will be viewed as controversial by some, but I've long suspected that there were disinformation agents on this board (ooh! a conspiracy!! call Jack Hunter!) and that it's being done to co-opt the Liberty Movement by the GOP, as they did to the Tea Party in 2009. I will NEVER vote for anyone who has a D or an R beside their name unless it's Ron Paul. Here in Arkansas we are not given the opportunity to write in votes.
So, that being said, I will vote for the Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson if Paul doesn't make the ballot. And I'm pretty sure that RP is not going to make the ballot in November. I may not even vote at all. I'm having a hard time convincing myself that voting makes a difference anyway. And then there's that idea that my voting is showing my approval in a system I no longer believe in anyway. I'm not sure what I'm going to do really.

I was the first one here bitching and posting crap about Romneycare and the individual mandate when the majority here seemed more concerned with other subjects. I have been quite suprised over the years reading here the lack of outrage concerning Romneycare and the individual mandate. A good grassroots effort went into taking Rick Perry down, creating websites, etc, however for some reason we have not seem the same effort against Romney.

I will continue to support Ron Paul and his efforts, but anyone that thinks he is going to be President or writing him in is going to have any impact is delusional. It is over and even if something happened at the convention, I do not even think Ron Paul wants to President considering how his campaign was waged nor believe he would battle the outrage that we stole the election since we did not win a state. This seemed to be another educational campaign and to get something out of the Romney admin. If someone has any information otherwise then they should post it.

With that said, my only choice close to Ron Paul is now Gary Johnson. Unless there is a major movement in campaign contributions and grassroots efforts for Gary, it is unlikely that he could win. At this point in time voting for Gary, writing in Ron Paul or sitting home means ZERO, ABSOLUTELY ZERO chance of getting Obamacare over turned. With Romney I believe there is a 40% chance it would be stopped and do not fault a person for taking that chance.

I gave two scenarios below of what I expect to happen with a Romney presidency. Hopefully there is a chance at option 2 if he does win. I am ultimately undecided, but I do not fault anyone for taking the chance on voting Romney in hopes of option #2 happening.

There are a couple of scenarios that could come from voting for Romney. I can see the reasoning in option 2 that provides a glimmer of hope but it is a huge risk where as there is no hope with Obama. A risk some may take that could possibly end badly.

Romney:

1. Romney will likely repeal it and will reach across the aisle to build a new bi-partisan plan which will quietly add back the offending elements to be implemented at the state level as a tax. Conservatives will celebrate it noting that it is similar to Newt's conservative plan that enacts it at the state level and as part of welfare reform.

Conservatives will celebrate the new policy of allowing health care competition across state lines and the Democrats will be happy since they still get their plan at the state level modeled after Massachusetts Romneycare.

Like welfare reform, most states will implement it otherwise will lose federal funds. The media will not report these details and your average Republican voter will fall for it possibly with the help of Neocon talk radio and Foxnews.

2. Romney will repeal it (possibly executive order), will not add back the individual mandate and will allow competition across state lines. He will be unable to implement mandated Romneycare at the state level due to opposition within his own party that could damage his re-election campaign.

What stands in the way of #2 happening is how emboldened the Neocon base of the party is. If they can keep the Tea Party and Neocon talk radio hosts in-line they maybe able to get away with #1. They will use Newt Gingrich as the poster boy, will exclaim that no one gets a free ride with it, and guys like Mark Levin and Hannity will lie and try to rally their base that it is Constitutional.

Gary Johnson:

- Obama wins and therefore no change.
- Romney wins, therefore pick options 1 or 2 above.

The only ways Romney gets my vote is to put a Paul on the ticket OR immediately starts campaigning and fundraising for our liberty candidates in a big way.
