The Israel government won’t stop its decimating of Gaza. Plus, it keeps lashing out at other nations in the region. Doesn’t it worry that it will end up defeated by engaging in war too broadly? The worry may be small because the Israel government has a couple big weapons in its back pocket.

First, the Israel government has reason to expect that the full force of the United States military and wallet of American taxpayers will come to Israel’s aid if Israel puts itself into a bind through its military adventurism. This is an example of what economists call a moral hazard.

Second, the Israel government, unlike the nations it is engaging hostilely against, has many nuclear weapons. While one may assume that such weapons are too terrible to use, the Israel government may not share this hesitation. Indeed, its war planning may include the use of nuclear weapons in addition to a heavy reliance on US intervention on its behalf.

This week, in the latest of a series of informative interviews he has had with host Andrew Napolitano at Judging Freedom, retired Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor addressed both these weapons of Israel. The Israel government’s belief it has “strategic superiority” due “in large part from the unconditional backing” the US presumably will provide to Israel, Macgregor argued, helps explain why Israel is seeking expanded war instead of peaceful resolution. Further, suggested Macgregor, Israel may use nuclear weapons in both Lebanon and Iran should Israel’s conflict with those nations escalate.

It's not fear mongering when it's just regular news.

Last night IDF hit Southern Lebanon towns of Al-Kafur, Mayfadoun and Jwayya but Hezbollah response was to hit an IDF Ein Zeitim base.

Tisha B'Av is Monday, and the longer this goes, the more that's the day Iran has planned - but Israel is likely to continue hitting first.

We can't reasonably hope for de-escalation when Israel continues killing scores of Palestinians EVERY DAY, and Netanyahu refuses the deals
that the US and Hamas are already on board for.

Read that again & again & think about it. lol

I am 100% in agreement with you that Netanyahu can’t just kill everyone in Palestian & Iran & Lebanon without consequences

Fear mongering isn't my style lol. No, I just post stuff that causes me to think about things. Such as, with all of the money being donated to politicians [and other], they don't do things without expecting some kind of a ROI [Return on Investment].

I know, everything with me comes down to money. I like money, a lot, but it's also one of the roots of evil.

There are rumors being posted as news that Iran is considering either lightening its response or postponing it entirely.

Asia Times today is saying postpone was the request, but they provide no evidence. Reuters reported on Aug 6th that Putin
asked Iran not to harm civilians. But Iran already said it wasn't going to target civlians before that.

RT is merely sharing the Politico article which claims it's not Russia but the U.S. who is convincing Iran to lighten or even cancel its response.

Meanwhile, neither Russian nor Iranian sources confirm any of this, and they don't even say there WAS a letter delivered from Shoigu to Khameini.

Hamas won't attend new ceasefire talks, holds Netayahu to July 2nd framework which he rejected

Iran strike back on the block unless Netanyahu agrees to July 2 ceasefire framework.

Hamas: "The new proposal meets Netanyahu's conditions and aligns with them, particularly his refusal of a permanent cease-fire, a complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and his insistence on continuing the occupation of the Netzarim Junction (which separates the north and south of the Gaza Strip), the Rafah crossing, and the Philadelphi Corridor (in the south)," Hamas said in a statement.
"He also set new conditions in the hostage swap file and retracted from other terms, which obstructs the completion of the deal."

___________
Reuters - censoring Hamas statement:
Fuly OMITS the part of the statement where Hamas agrees to 1) no permanent ceasefire 2) ongoing Israeli occupation of Gaza and of the three junction points noted.
ALSO omits another part of Hamas statement about hs changes to the hostage swap profile.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/hamas-says-gaza-proposal-too-192320700.html
Jerusalem Post also directly contradicts Hamas statement:
by saying: "Hamas has insisted that the deal must include an Israeli agreement for a permanent ceasefire."
https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-815242

correction.

I think I was thrown off by the quotes. Hamas does not agree with the new proposal
where there is no road to permanent ceasefire and there is ongoing IDF control of all the corridors

But the outcome is still the same. Hamas wants peace but Israel is not done.

Looks like Netanyahu will be successful in triggering a major Hezbollah/Iran attack and US will hop right in.

That's how it looks right now.

Feel free to make sense of it the best you can.
