Why the Patriot Act is dangerous...

I know this is old news but oh well...

The Patriot Act says that the government can look through your library records to see if you have any 'terrorist sympathies.' So say if I got a book on Al Qaeda to see what their ideology is, well to the government I would be a terrorist because they saw my records, or if I got a copy of 'Mein Kampf' because I was a WWII history buff and wanted to see what Hitler's ideology was since the book is anti-Semetic and mysogynist and the terrorists are also that way and since some Arab leaders were drawan to Hitler's ideology I would also be put on the radar. Finally, the point needs to be made that just like the danger of military tribunals the government could consider a U.S. citizen who disagrees with his government a terrorist and spy on him.

Well actually, the Libraries refered to in the Patriot Act are located in Title 20 of U.S Code (Education). A few things to consider.
1. this would be a Police Power which Congress does not have in the several states of the union see U.S.S.C decision -Lopez v. the United States. "Congress does not have anything even close to a police power in the states".
2. The Department of Education. Title 20 USC is administered by the Department of Interior, located in Puerto Rico, a (reconsruction)Trust it has no authority in the several states, period

CREATION AND AUTHORITY.-The Department of the Interior was
created by the act of Congress approved March 3, 1849 (9 Stat. 395;
5 U. S. C. 481), titled "An Act to establish the Home Department."
The jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Interior extends
from the administration of territories to the supervision of mining
operations and the management of the *Alaska Railroad. *dated Alaska is now a state of the union
The Assistant Secretary is in charge of the Office of Indian Affairs,(Obama Care,treaty with the Indians)
General Land Office, Grazing Service, National Park Service, Office
of Land Utilization, Fish and Wildlife Service, and the United States
Board on Geographical Names.

3. A divsion of the Department of Interior is the Commodity Credit Corporation.
The Petroleum divsion of the C.C.C is the Department of Defense, formely the Munition Board (weapons dealer)
The construction division of the C.C.C is the Armed Services, renamed the Armed Forces in 1956, there is no committee in Congress for the Armed Forces, besides the Armed Services committee's jurisdiction is the construction of Military bases.
The C.C.C administers the school lunch programs. no joke
The C.C.C administers the Student Loan Program
The former Signet Corp., during W.W.2 was a division of the C.C.C, limited to SIGNET signals, in a treaty with England, was renamed the National Security Agency after the Korean Conflict, the NSA authority is still limited to SIGNET Intelegence, not to our phone calls.

The libraries mentioned in the Patriot Act would have to be located in insular possesions or Washington D.C, under Congress's near absolute power for the territories.

SUBCHAPTER II--LIBRARY SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY

Sec. 9122. Definitions

As used in this subchapter:

(1) Indian tribe

The term ``Indian tribe'' means any tribe, band, nation, or
other organized group or community, including any Alaska native
village, regional corporation, or village corporation, as defined in
or established pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act
(43 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.), which is recognized by the Secretary of
the Interior as eligible for the special programs and services
provided by the United States to Indians because of their status as
Indians.

(2) Library

The term ``library'' includes--
(A) a public library;
(B) a public elementary school or secondary school library;
(C) an academic library;
(D) a research library, which for the purposes of this
subchapter means a library that--
(i) makes publicly available library services and
materials suitable for scholarly research and not otherwise
available to the public; and
(ii) is not an integral part of an institution of higher
education; and

(E) a private library or other special library, but only if
the State in which such private or special library is located
determines that the library should be considered a library for
purposes of this subchapter.



(4) State

The term ``State'', unless otherwise specified, includes each of
the 50 States of the United States, the District of Columbia, the
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, Guam,
American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands,
the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of
Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau.
