Voting for Johnson/Weld is not about agreeing with their history and position statements as much as it is about giving the one-finger salute to the establishment of either major party.
I wouldn't vote for Weld in a Republican primary. But I don't have a problem voting for him in the general this year as an LP candidate because the message it sends is that the two-party structure is not quite as strong as they want everyone to believe.
