Why girls get better grades

Both of my boys went to Montessori, and the school got progressively more anti-male as time went on, including toward the few males teachers they had. One awesome teacher left because he was next in line to run a classroom he had been teaching in for years, and they hired a fresh out of school, inexperienced female teacher to be head teacher instead of promoting him.

The school created the anti-male environment, and the girls picked up on it PDQ, and got away with all sorts of nasty behavior; they'd act like mean little brats toward the boys, hit them, called them names, and then lie, cry, whine, pretending like they were the victims, and of course the teachers bought it, and punished the boys.

The boys were always being punished...usually just for being boys and doing boy things, like playing star wars during recess.

Why girls get better grades

It isn't because they actually know the material better, but because they don't annoy the teacher:

Despite having higher scores on standardized tests, boys get lower grades than girls. Why? Because teachers are basing grades at least partly on classroom behavior, and the standards are very much geared to female norms....

"Boys in all racial categories across all subject areas are not represented in grade distributions where their test scores would predict. Even those boys who perform equally as well as girls on reading, math and science tests are nevertheless graded less favorably by their teachers."

In summary, girls are able to substitute apple-polishing and classroom etiquette for an amount of knowing the material, and they are being rewarded for it, beginning in kindergarten. Their better grades are eventually used to give them priority of place in college, thereby leading observers to erroneously conclude that they are "outperforming" men.

Unsurprisingly, the boys who are smart enough to figure out the deck is stacked against them lose all respect for the system and opt out in varying degrees.

In my case, it was because I was always distracted by school girls...

Not for nothing, but the fact that the most important job women have on Earth is making babies, it's a shame that we try to make women into men and men into apes.

All I know from my life working as an adult is that smart men are much harder working and better working than any female, period. Of course there are exceptions, but men are vastly superior. It's not even close.

Note: Making and mothering babies is the most important job on Earth by the way. That's why any of us are here...or even that Jesus came as a man...because we all had mothers.

Boys do much better at all-boys schools, IMO.
The Navy and military understands this, it's why they don't allow women in combat. It has nothing to do with the female ability to perform, many females are equal to males in these abilities, but it has to do with the effect that the presence of females has on males.

No way, I think in this case it has a lot to do with performance than any possible distraction. Also do you know how hardworking a man can be when he thinks there is a chance to impress a hot gal? He could literally grow wings and fly with a hottie watching him :)

I was once told by an old submariner "girls lower morale" which is why they aren't allowed on submarines.

From my experience, grades were more dependent on your willingness to do pointless busy work than any knowledge or skills you had. Girls, on average, were more willing to do that busy work. Guys tended to do better on standardized tests, especially in math, but less likely to actually do homework and book reports and things like that. While I don't doubt there was a lot of sexism from the female teachers, I also don't think that is what really causes the grade disparity. My theory would be that girls are more social creatures than guys and see grades as a social status, so will work harder to achieve them. I always scored very well on any standardized tests, but I couldn't take most school work seriously enough to put the work towards it. I hardly ever did homework. I think there is also the possibility that guys, on average, require a higher level of autonomy to function. I work harder and smarter when I'm doing it out of my own free choice. School work was not out of my own free choice. I lived in a pretty constant state of fear about grades because my dad was very threatening about them, but doing something because somebody is threatening you is terribly demotivating. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if girls are less likely to be encouraged to get good grades with negative reinforcement than guys. That is a major problem in our society in general is the idea that hostility is the best way to get what you want. Keep pushing them and if it doesn't work, then push harder. Even if things get worse. The pushing couldn't possibly be the problem itself, could it? Nah, the problem is with the lazy kid that won't do whatever I command him to do.

The Army certainly allows women in combat. As do the Marines. Women were in combat rules in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I am not sure what you are getting at. When I was in the military in 2004, women were fighting in combat. I thought most people know that by know?

I'd much rather that women produce stuff really useful to me, and not babies, tbh.

And I guess you worked with a large enough, representative sample of the whole working population to make such claims about women's abilities?

The military uses that excuse for anything, honestly. Gays supposedly "lowered morale" as well.

Perhaps they do. That wasn't an issue to the people in the medical field near me, in my experience. We had men, women, bisexuals and so on. It didn't seem to be a problem for anyone.

In Korea a male student always has the best grades. Female students do extremely well, but there's always one or two boys who hold the top grades.

You're right, it'd be better if none of us were ever born.

I work for a repair shop (my own business) and a large corporation. I've worked as a teacher in the past, my brother has worked in Dunkin Donuts and works for the government now.

Women are simply too moody, lack the pragmatism, and not willing to work under extreme stress in work situations. Women WILL do amazing things for their families (parents, kids). Again, this is a generalization, but it is generally true.

The video suggests that males are more competitive. It also might suggest that males are smarter. Though, I'm unsure if it suggests that. Personally, I'm not going to touch that. In fact, if I said males were smarter, that might be me proving that males aren't as smart :D
