I actually doing my mental health clinical rotation at the VA and forget what you hear on TV, the veterans (especially the OIF-OEF ones) are taken good care of (AT least the ones in the system). The problem is that there is a lot of mental problems with some of them, some cannot be compliant with the requirements the VA set and those are generally the ones that become homeless. Cutting every penny from assistance to "illegal alien housing" is not going to eliminate this problem.

The best help you can offer these people is to stop with the wars, there is nothing more heart breaking than seeing a young man that is screwed up in the head. But I bet even Trump is not man enough to offer the veterans that kind of help

My point is that Europeans that want to come to the US have an easy go at it compared to people from anywhere else in the world. All they really need is an EU passport and they have access to the US. Also, they have a much much much easier time getting school and work VISA.

Which is another absurdity. The entire system needs to be blown up. And Trump is the only one giving any voice at all to the issue. If he a buffoon? Sure. But if a buffoon is what it takes to get the truth out there, I think the public is ready to make that trade off. People have reached the breaking point.

It comes down to prioritized contracts. The government signed off on an ironclad contract to take care of these men after their service was fulfilled. The government had no such contract with non-citizens. Now when you see thousands of vets dying from manipulated scheduling databases, we have to ask why the government holds their veterans with such disdain after the veterans had fulfilled the difficult side of their bargain? You'd almost think that they don't care about them. Of course, illegal aliens and their families are a far more important demographic in terms of future voting trends and how they fit into the corporate welfare pyramid.

My assessment is they have absolutely no frigging clue on the subject. Even people making couple hundred grand a year do not feel secure at this time. This should tell you how bad the situation is. Instead what we are getting is let's defund PP, lol.

Like I said its more easier for an European to come to the US for school than for almost anyone else in the world. If they get a good stem degree after school, then they can easily get a green card and stay, get married and stay etc etc. If you have a profession that is not in demand then you have a little problem but it goes the same for everybody else.

Also, this third world legal immigration by the 10s of million is fiction. Yea, a lot of people come for school (some over stay their VISAs other go home), as refugees but it's no where near 10s of million number. There is a lot of prioritization and discretion applied to permanent VISAs to the US. The US lottery VISA that gave out green cards to qualified families only gave to around 50k people a year. Everything else is according to need of industries.

No fricken way you really believe this garbage right? I just have to tell you that it is not true, parents can apply for children, 1 spouse can apply for the other spouse. Children applying for parents, families applying for extended relatives etc is not something I have heard of or something that works even if its possible and believe you me, I have my ear in the immigrant community. I know lots of college students who are trying to get a work permit to be able to stay on (lots of them end up running out of money and going back home), I know people who have their green cards and working to get their sibling here and it's not as easy as you think it is.

Because he has sort of become the voice for a constituency that is feeling being marginalized. With his firebrand , and at times demagoguery, rhetoric.. Trump is appealing to raw emotions of a sizeable part of the GOP base even if they are not sure of his longterm prospects. His disadvantages are many but one advantage he has is that in the era of cautious/PC politics, his is a unique one man shop with almost no competition.

Only thing that remains to be seen is for how long he manages to stay in business.

I work with 3 guys who have done just that, in fact one of them is "on leave" from work - with pay - to go back to Iraq to get his wife. One of them has 3 kids, a wife who doesn't work, and 2 senior citizen parents who never worked a day in America nor paid one cent in taxes yet are immediately on SS and Medicare.
