Because of sheer amounts of documented evidence and testimony.

I have not seen any RELIABLE evidence of that happening in Georgia and until I see that I will remain skeptical.

The only assumption I can go off of is that Russia has imperialist tendencies and intervenes in the affairs of its surrounding countries (just like we do in Latin America). That makes me skeptical of any Russian intention.

I can understand the desires of South Ossetians to have their own country. But that needs to be settled within the context of Georgia. An agreement needs to be made, through diplomacy and reason, not Russian brutality. Leveling apartment buildings is not the answer.

The desires of the Georgians living in South Ossetia needs to be accounted for, and I highly doubt Russia or its pawns will pay them any heed.
