Hence, when one asks questions about abolishing our current system, one better be prepared to know what to replace it with or someone else may come-in and replace it with something far worse.

A system of voluntary contracts and competing private businesses to provide everything the government currently has a forcibly-held monopoly on (defense, courts, roads, money, etc.). Total respect for the non-aggression axiom.

If some people want to go off and reform the original Constitutional Republic of the United States or any other system, they are free to do that, as long as they don't force anyone to be subject to it. People can vote with their feet.
 
As an addendum, if enough people join me, I would like to see if Slave Uprising will adopt this movement. Adam Kokesh has already got a good thing going, and the better we can coordinate with other likeminded patriots, the more successful we will be.

My thoughts exactly. Any and all suggestions for a Second Declaration are welcome.

I'll offer something up. Feel free to make recommendations for changes, or additions, or recommend your own completely different version, etc.:

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

An anarchist has no need to list crimes by a state. A state by nature is coercive.

The declaration merely needs to be the non-aggression principle/axiom. Period.

The more wordy you get, the harder it will be for the average Simpsons fan to understand it. And it will dilute the simple message. And it will be misinterpreted in the future.

I see your point, but I think offering a list of specified offenses will also help the average Simpsons fan see just how destructive of our freedoms our current Government has become, as well. The opening paragraph can probably be pared down to the simple NAA, you're right.

Sounds interesting. If you can bring enough people you will scare the shit out of the establishment. Bring a million people to D.C. to declare their independence and the house of cards will become awfully shaky. It will be interesting to see if the media can make 1,000,000 people in D.C. disappear for a day. Either way I'm down and I know of at least 15-20 other people that are down too.

No, not at all. Who would want to make you subject to enumerated rights like habeas corpus or a right to trial by jury of your peers? No, if you feel you are able to defend yourself against the most powerful force in human history without the protections offered by a document legally recognized as the supreme law of the land, by all means, go for it.

The point is that the current Government has nullified those rights. We are obviously not going to get those rights back through more petitioning and marching and phone calls and emails. Obviously, it would take more than 90% of the American public behind us to return the current government to its Constitutional limits. That bar has been set by the recent bailout. Ninety percent opposed it, and the government did it anyway. Therefore, it must take some number greater than 90% of the American people in order for the government to respect our wishes (not to mention the Constitution).

Our Founders reserved for us the right (and duty) to abolish any and all government that becomes destructive of the liberties you mentioned, when they drafted the Declaration of Independence. This government has become destructive of those liberties. I think you're missing the point. First of all, the founders gave us the right to alter or abolish. Second, once you abolish that entire document, you have nothing but your own authority to back your claim to any rights at all.

The point is that we'll have 365 days between 11/5/08 and 11/5/09 to develop a functioning system of private, voluntary, contractual defense/court/insurance agencies to cross over to after we dissolve the US Government.

Ha. Someone brought this up in another thread. If by 11/5/2009, the government has disappeared several million people, or even several hundred thousand, it will be the greatest boon to our movement ever.

All those people will be brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, friends, co-workers, classmates, spouses, lovers, etc. It would turn the entire American populace against this government.
