I would agree with you if the people were familiar with Ron Paul's message and simply chose to vote against it. The press has done such a masterful job of censoring Ron Paul that most people still know very little about him or exactly what he stands for.
For me it is the people who say they like Ron Paul's message or that he's the only real conservative in the race but they aren't going to vote for him because he has no chance of winning...as if you get a prize for voting for the one that wins? They say they don't want to "waste their vote" but IMO a wasted vote is one that is cast for the lesser of two evils rather than the candidate that represents your beliefs. They betray us, the country, and THEMSELVES.

You have to follow the money trail.
The most obvious culprits are the massive numbers of American Jews and Christian Zionists who put Israel's interests at or above America's.
Followed perhaps by the military industrial complex, as it's called.
And big businesses and their political buddies in general which are partly intertwined with the two previous groups, noting that there is one big elitist club which sees America as its personal army and money tree.
I don't think the country will get back on the right track until many of these folks die off, which will be within the next 25 years. There certainly are not enough young American Jews and evangelical Christians who would put Israel over America, as their elders have. Then the others will follow suit. One hopes.

Yep. That's the most important one. If we had actual, honest journalism to inform the public none of the other stuff could happen.

My main beef is against CBS. Kaitie Couric and their totally plastic newscast.
Another guy from CBS that dropped in my esteem is David Letterman. He actually said back in 1988 that he was VOTING FOR RON PAUL.
This election cycle not ONE word about Ron Paul. Not even a single joke.

"massive numbers of American Jews". They are not in massive numbers. Less than 2%, but get this: they CONTRIBUTE to elections by a factor of 10:1 compared to the rest of the population. They also have overwhelming presence in editorial staff of magazines, newspapers, in movies, radio and television. Add to the HUGE presence on wall street, politics and top corporate positions.
They could be 0.1 % and still have control.
We're just to stupid/apathetic observe what's going on and to challenge that dominance.
Well, Jews are good at TV, magazines, movies, things like this. They are talented enough to spend their lives producing shallow fluff like the typical sitcom and Hollywood movie and all that. I could never see myself spending my hours and days writing this crap or chasing after millions on Wall Street. But a lot Jews love it b/c they see it as a means to an end: money = political power. They recognize that it's all crap and lies and b.s. too, but they won't admit it for the most part. And if Americans are dumb enough to buy into it (which they are), then what can we do. And money is the name of the game in politics today, and they have a lot of it and don't mind using it to get what they want. I see the 20th Century as the Jewish Century in America. I think the 21st Century will see it slip from their grasp, and I think they see it too. Hence the urgency vis a vis strengthening Israel's position in the Mid East at any and all costs necessary. And they know their spoiled kids won't be up to the task, so it's now or never. And which is why RP is so anathema to the media, which they run. I live in Los Angeles, I have many Jewish friends, and if anyone think the Jews don't run the media they are fools. Not bad people, but fools. They are not in complete control of the content, but at the executive level they hold the power.
As long as we recognize what is really going on here we can make sense of it. These are a people who for centuries have been trying to fulfill their destiny against great odds, and then finally they see the Promised Land may be within their grasp. If you think they will let an OB Doc from Texas get in their way.... But this is mainly the older generation of Jews who still have WWII in their heads. They remember all the effort at securing Israel, fighting its early wars, etc. Just as we have many old timers who remember when America was "great."
But it is not only Jews. There are plenty of non Jews who don't put common everyday Americans first. It's a mess if America is your first choice, which it is for many of us.
We have to recognize what is going on and find our own way. The good news is that most of these people will be dying off and it will be up to the younger gens who don't see Israel as some beacon of hope, who don't see free trade as some great thing, that will make a difference. But don't let these old fogies bully you by calling you anti Semites (they know you are not, just that their desire for a Promised Land is so strong they will fight hard for it and use any dirty trick necessary to throw you off), don't let warmongerers like McCain say you are un-American for not liking bogus globalistic policies, etc.
Water off a seal's back in other words.
