I don't particulary ask what their political affiliation is. One thing I do notice is that the more informed and educated they are, the more receptive to RP they are.

I don't know about most receptive, but the neo-cons are the least receptive by far.

They can agree with Paul on 99 out of 100 thhings, but when you tell them he's against the war in Iraq they go berzerk. Bush and Limbaugh have really done a number on them with the whole freedom fighter thing.

People who don't trust the government and or who do not have stock portfolios that are making a tidy fortune off of scum.

I voted for Independants in the poll btw.

I have always voted for the Green party myself in elections.

30 or 40 something working married Republicans who have kids and don't want to see them go to war. They were Bush supporters, pro afghan war, were pro Iraq war, but only because Iraq was sold as an easy in easy out deal. They don't like the war now and want it over. Theiy are pissed Bin Laden is still at large. They don't want to talk too much about it, don't like it when the war is rubbed in their faces, but the don't see how it can end without causing chaos.

I simply say "There was chaos, genocide, and roaming death squads in Iraq before we came there, there was chaos, genocide, and romaing death squads in Iraq while we occupied Iraq, and there will be chaos, genocide, and roaming death squads in Iraq after we leave, whether we leave today, tomorrow, or 5 years from now. These people did not grow up on I love Lucy and Andy Griffith Show, they saw violence from birth and will begat violence until death. It's just a matter of who do you want the crosshairs to be on, us or them?

After that, the rest is cake. Getting over the 'will he get our asses kicked' mentality is the toughest.

The market is a behemoth, capable of moving heavy loads; keeping it tamed is the trick, without whips and chains...

My brother is Green, was voting Kucinich. Asked me about RP and the minimum wage tonight. Off hand I said that RP was for truly free markets. For reversing the "corporatism" trend of the last century that has made the min. wage necessary. While nothing will happen overnight. Dr Paul just wants to put us back on the track that our founders intended. To give The Constitution a try, for a change.

People who vote for Ron Paul in their first election are the coolest people on the planet.

Where I live, there are no Republicans. So I answered "Democrats" because that's what most people seem to be around here. What few Republicans do exist are Neocon caricatures, at least the ones who will admit it. I still have a hard time realizing that I am now a registered Republican. Wow.

Really though, it's not a party-line thing. If there's one indicator above all, it's whether people understand the difference between Federal, State, and County/Municipal governments. If they do, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. They love them some Doctor.

Most of the people that I've converted are either Democrats or left-wing independents such as Greens and people with Socialistic leanings. Most of these people would probably support either Gravel or Kucinich, but once I tell them about the fund raising numbers and the grass roots explosion where Paul is concerned, they are more than willing to jump on board.

Although these people want these government entitlements to stay, right now the Iraq War is at the front of their minds and ending it is more important than expanding the welfare state.
