I'm just wondering why they're using flight time to fly around NC and then land in NC tonight. We rented this blimp to advertise Ron Paul in the early primary sates and to bring it to Boston.

I realize that it will not make it to Boston and that is fine and understandable. I've never complained about it once but, why in the hell is it waltzing around NC using up valuable flight time.

It needs to be in SC and or FL!! Not doing Flyovers of NC cities. Who cares about NC. We care about SC. according to the charges per minute we will be spending tens of thousands to fly over random cities in North Carolina.

So they're using 9 1/2 hours of flight time to fly around NC today. According to the website that will cost us about 6 grand and, this is for a state that isn't an early primary.

This is the coolest thread ever! We got to watch Menthol Patch go from obsessive compulsive to complete schizophrenic. It is appropriate that the launching of the blimp has also brought about the launching of his alter ego, LaughingMan. The posts where he was conversing with himself were pretty entertaining, but alas we have reached that point where LaughingMan has become the stronger personality and strong armed Menthol out of the picture.

A Great Start!

For the uninformed....

This afternoon the blimp will be flying by the 2nd largest tourist destination in NC, the Concord Mills Mall. (Sad that a mall holds that designation, but there will be several thousand people there to marvel at the blimp.) It is the Christmas season and this mall is drawing tens of thousands of people a day right now and this timing will be perfect, being late afternoon.

Over 75,000 people work in downtown Charlotte and the timing of the blimp flying through during rush hour will provide maximum exposure. Traffic is usually at a standstill in many locations, I can't wait to see the reactions when people see it going by!!!

There are well over a million people in the Charlotte metropolitan area and most will be outside this time of day.

Not bad for a first day folks!!!

It's frustrating because last week they wanted all of us to raise 200k by midnight to "Get the Blimp up Monday and in Boston for the Tea Party". This is what everyone expected and pledged for and was in a way promised to all pledgers that if we gave then this is how things would go for the Blimp. Seems everything has gone the other way.....Blimp wasn't launched till Friday, only one banner, flying a much different flight path, second banner not going on till later next week, etc.

Obviously frustrations are to be expected.

P.S. - Blimp pictures look good today!

Yes, it's sad it can't make it to Boston, but nobody can fight Mother Nature.

It's very exciting to be up in the air advertising Dr. Paul to the world. It gives us exposure when it is critical. That's the most important thing.

RALEIGH - No, you're not imagining things. That really is a Ron Paul for President blimp flying over the City of Raleigh today.

Organizers for the blimp took off this morning at 8am at the Airship Management Hangar in Elizabeth City, North Carolina and they are on their way to Chester, South Carolina where they will make their first stop.

Many of the TV stations are not covering the blimp yet. I would rather be on TV than in print. According to some, many of the TV stations are not yet aware of the blimp. People are calling them at the moment. That is what we need. We want live coverage of the Blimp on local TV news at lunchtime and dinner time.
