The sooner the better! Would be nice if it was before the Fox debate. Rand would have a much better shot of getting to debate then.

Depends on what the real skinny is about the conflicting reports that came to light today. Did the staff leave out of frustration with Carson, or was it part of a purge by Carson, due to objecting to their blunders? Was Armstrong Williams the main one who blundered, or was he blowing the whistle on the ones who did?

Was it Carson's call to blow through $20 million, or did the consultants do it? Who decided not to campaign in IA when Carson had the lead, thus blowing the lead to Cruz later? Was it all about padding Carson's wallet in speaking fees? If most of the blame comes down to Carson himself, he'll quit soon. If it was his staffers, he will probably stick it out to try to recover his mojo.

I'm not so sure about that. Believe it or not, Dr. Carson has "real" supporters - not the faux support that shows up in the polls, but real people who donate money. (I think he has the most individual donations of any candidate, but someone would have to fact-check that. Definitely in the top 3)

So... From that perspective, he becomes something of a kingmaker. A kingmaker who is partial to the other doctor running. If you think about it in those terms, then it's hard to say when is the "right" time. Sure, he may do us good now, but who's to say he won't provide even more value down the road a little ways?

I think it's possible that he could drop out before the debate if it's as bad as I think it is, but I voted for before Iowa (but after the next debate), just because I have the feeling that Carson thinks he might be able to recover and will probably give up after the next debate if his poll numbers either stagnate or continue to drop. I don't think he is getting the nomination so I wouldn't vote never, but there is always the possibility that he might wait until after Iowa to drop out.

Complete guess but I think he will pull out before Iowa, he's too rational to continue a failed campaign.

When will he lose the Secret Service protection ?
That will make the news along with this campaign staff chaos, and if it effects polling enough before the January 11 poll cutoff for the next Fox debate . . .

Well, would love to give Ben the chance to be in the undercard debate, where he always belonged.

Does SEC mean SC?

It is the March 1 primaries. They call it the SEC primary because it is mostly southeastern states (who have universities belonging to the SEC athletic conference).

Maybe Rand can offer him a spot in a potential Rand administration so Carson can back him?? ;)

All current competitors for Republican nomination should be offered positions in future Rand administration.

Trump can be appointed court jester.

Carson can be appointed as Trump's therapist.
