fwiw, I suspect that RFK Jr. is going to drop out and endorse Trump before people can vote in September.

Probably after the debate, so that it's not an issue discussed.

The only delay is bargaining and whether it's revealed publicly or not that he's going to get a post.

It's the corporate donors and GOP that don't want Kennedy with a real post, because they want those for themselves, and they don't want Kennedy and Trump getting close on a personal basis.

Hopefully Trump is just taking the money from his corporate sponsors (who don't want RFK Jr. in the administration)
and then once he has enough in the war chest, he'll cut a deal. They won't like it, but he can tell them it's worth it.

The RFK Jr. voters will then vote for Trump.

Unfortunately, if Trump decides to make the promise only privately, its effect will be less, if RFK Jr. can't tell his voters
that he's getting a post. But either way, I think it's going to happen, and with Biden out, it's more likely than before,
because much of the other Kennedy family members were Biden buddies (and ambassadors), but they have no allegiance to Kamala Harris.

anonymous poll.

I'm confused by options 2 and 3. How could RFK endorse Trump and Trump give him a position without those things being public?

At the minimum, he should be his Health Advisor; the position that Birx had. However, doing this would be running the risk of having a mole in his cabinet. Something he had a huge problem with the first time.

Little known fact Kennedy already had a position in the Trump admin 1st term

Trump was his own worst mole. Nobody forced him to give that interview to Bob Woodward where he said the following:

https://www.npr.org/2020/09/09/9111...o-downplay-deadliness-of-virus-to-avoid-panic

Woodward quotes a subsequent interview on March 19, wherein Trump says: "I always wanted to play it down. I still like playing it down, because I don't want to create a panic."

For the life of my I cannot understand why Trump did that level of self sabotage.

yes he could be included in something he is qualified with , no not until after election as GOP will need votes taken from dems by him in a few states

If all the voters that polled for RFK actually went to Trump because of an endorsement, Trump would run away with it.

his biggest qualification would be EPA, but Trump's donors would panic.

you got to wait for early October.. You don't want to peak too early.

I like Kennedy but I am not a political wizard. I am not sure what is the best strategy here for the GOP.

RFK still being in the race seems kinda pointless now. Unless he's talking with Democrats behind the scenes to make him their nominee.

There was FAR more than that that happened.
