When Does Open Immigration Become An Invasion?

deport anyone who doesn't speak English, including those who are already citizens?

The citizenship test is given in English. If someone is a "citizen" without speaking English, they committed fraud. They could spend a few years in prison for that before deportation, maybe.

You are suggesting that

That is bullshit, you liar. The topic we are discussing is government-chartered corporations who employ people, not homes for the invalid. You should find Jesus and stop lying, you dishonest pig.

No, I said what I said. Not your contorted version of it.
Then what did you say? Clarify. Do you support modern immigration laws more than the laws of 100 or 200 years ago?
You really should go get a job at FOX news; you spin things wonderfully.
No Fox News would never add the perspective of history to the immigration debate. Nor would they delve into the definition of conservatism.

Exactly. One shows an example of invasion, and the other shows the free market (which I thought everyone here was in favor of...guess not).

What's missing is the picture of people claiming to be currently invaded feeding their fat faces with the food that they, nor their descendants, will never risk picking while either attending college or working at a job that required college.

Are you suggesting we have a labor shortage in agriculture?? We need to import more peasants to pick our crops??

Exactly. People have no idea how much unskilled labor keeps prices down and benefits everyone in the market. This is basic economics here. Trump is a clueless socialist.

And you're dumber than a load of bricks. Prices prices prices. Shortages shortages. . A very simple economic concept.

Yes. There is absolutely a shortage of unskilled labor in the market today! Not just agriculture. Americans are becoming MUCH MORE skilled.

Why is that "dumb"? Do you like buying lettuce heads for $1.50 or do you like buying them for $12.50? Why do you want skilled Americans wasting their talents so they can give you heads of lettuce for $12.50? That's insane.

Absolutely. You can call them peasants if you wish. I have an extremely hard time hiring US citizens to do what I do.

I remember when, 20 years ago, we could easily hire high school kids to drive tractors plowing fields and hauling hay. It's non-existant now even in a rural area. They don't want to do it and their parents don't want them to do it.

Notice I didn't say we wanted to hire them to actually harvest or plant crops. No. But we do trust adult illegal aliens because they are not so distracted by being an idiot pop culture savvy American.

because you can't talk about shortages without looking at prices. The price of labor. If there were truly a shortage of labor in agriculture the the price of labor would be exploding. But it's not. In agriculture the price of energy is more important than labor. Every year it is the same thing. Crops will be rotting in the fields if we don't import more people. In 2013 farm income was the highest its ever been. Last two years the price of grain and livestock has fallen thus farm income is down.

Trust me. We don't have a labor shortage.

This^^ This thread is reminding me of debates I've heard back in the 90's about offshoring labor like product assistance, manufacturing, etc to places like India and China. People arguing against that are as ignorant as the people around here militantly opposing foreign laborers. No understanding of markets whatsoever. SMFH.

No. The price of agricultural labor isn't "exploding" because the market will not bear $12.50 heads of lettuce. That's why low paying, unskilled labor is in demand. You are only talking about one part of the equation, not the whole thing.

There is a labor shortage WRT people who will meet the demands of employers who currently hire "illegals". If Americans could offer the same value or greater, this issue wouldn't even exist.
