when are we allowed to get ANGRY?

I'll admit it: I'm really angry at my parents' generation. Look at the shit mess they left us with! 28 trillion dollars in entitlements over the next 35 years, a morality culture that finds "pre-emptive" war acceptable, and a democracy limping along on its last corrupt legs. Those bastards raped the dollar of its value, and took lifetimes of benefit and privilege out of it. They accepted as morality a policy of conduct that would make the founding fathers spin. Everything we gave them custody of, that generation screwed up! Well, guess who gets to clean up the mess?

your generation has promises of care from government. My generation gets to suffer the privations of economic depression and national bankruptcy. It's MY generation that has to fight corrupt entrenched powers to ensure even so basic a thing as honesty in politics. I'm really quite upset about it.

not all of them...but a lot of them.

what's sad is they don't care about our generation....they'll rant and rave about how they need their social security and how young people shouldn't have the choice because it means less money for them.....but you bring up the fact that our generation won't get a cent of SS once we reach retirement, they remain silent, or say "oh, the government will make sure it's there". The fact of the matter is, their line of thinking is "why should I care? I want my money now...I'll be dead then...who cares what you get or don't get".

of course, you have to keep in mind, vertesc---many of our generation are the same exact way, only worse...you just haven't seen it yet. Remember, entitlement-wanters breed entitlement-wanters (and usually the next generation will want even more).

it didn't fully start in their generation either...but they're still the main reason for the blame...you have to go back to the days of Woodrow Wilson...when the seeds were sown for "making the world safe for Democracy"....and FDR's reign of terror with his multitude of economic programs and policies that forever damaged our once capitalistic society.

there's a myriad of other factors...but yeah, the generation above us gave us a crapload of problems to deal with, and sadly, I don't think they can be solved (unless Ron is elected...even then, the next Prez could destroy all of Ron's policies).

It's just sad...really sad. :T

Darlings we were furious with our older generation too. They were furious with theirs. You get stupidity and ignorance across the ages, across the races, across all the spectrums. You have really dumb people of your generation who will be a really moronic older generation. Just as you have very wonderful people of your generation who will become part of a very wonderful older generation.
Most people, old, middle and young are simply wrapped up in themselves and self-gratification and they can't see beyond their next shopping spree.

The only way you will ever be able to change the status quo is by being patient. Have you noticed how patient Dr Paul is?

And one day he will POUNCE!

I suppose someone could run on a euthansia campaign to reduce government spending.

I wouldn't be too harsh on the older generation. They are the ones who are really screwed. You can see it in their eyes when you begin to explain how the US banking system is experiencing a bank run and soon their retirement will evaporate. They feel helpless ..... and are. They've worked their entire lives and are going to have it go poof. At least those under 50 can still earn something and adapt quicker with technology by using things like GoldMoney.

I would say any time now would be good.

If middle America finally did get angry, maybe something would change. Most people just really don't see it coming. The government propaganda combined with a complicit media really has the majority fooled.

Anger doesn't ask permission. Blaming older people will not make any difference. There are plenty of your own generation to blame but its just human nature.

Perhaps with the internet things will change enough to really make a difference. The constant sharing of knowledge and ideas is what brings political enlightenment not any generation. Try bringing about a revolution without using the internet before you blame others. Just use the newspapers and write your congressmen and see what happens. Write all the books you want and speak on every street corner. Without the internet there can be no revolution.

So don't blame people based on their age.

When the anger finally does come, I hope it's focused in the right direction. The problem is runaway government, not the elderly, not immigrants, not corporations (although the MSM should certainly shoulder part of the blame).

Who cares when you're "allowed" to. That takes all the fun out of being angry.

The point of being angry is to piss others off, and waiting until your allowed to doesn't have the same effect as being angry at the most inopportune times for them...... Such as election years.

Makes me wonder how long we have till armed revolt. I mean people are waking up to the evil machinations of the Clintons and the Bush's. I wonder if people are going to wake up when they impose a universal draft. I wonder if the older generation will wake up.

Rational thinking? Here?

Beautifully said. :)

THANK YOU! Finally, some are starting to understand. This ISN'T a generational thing, it's a COMMUNICATION thing. Every generation has seen this happening, yet been powerless against those who control communication. FINALLY, there is a venue to be HEARD, and those of us who have been "fighting the good fight" since the SIXTIES can participate along with all of the younger people.

BEFORE you SLAM OLD PEOPLE... look at how many YOUNG people are voting for Obama and McCain. This is about AWARENESS and INTELLIGENCE, not AGE!!!!

Damn hippies.

Nope... Damn the hippies who "sold out" to give their children a cushy life. Not all of us "sold out" and some of us are still paying the price of being freedom fighters all our lives. Before you damn a whole age group, look carefully at the percentage of young people voting for Obama and McCain.

Gee, if the older generations had already solved all of the problems, WHY on earth would we need you? :)

If the public ever gets "angry" then we are more likely to end up with fascism or socialism. Anger in this country is always over the fact that someone else didn't fix my problems like they promised, so I'll find someone that will.

I'm in the process of looking for places to emigrate. Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand are at the top of my list.
