All you have to do is go to a grocery store to see that America has an obesity problem. I have seen 5 year old children that weigh more than I do.

The reason this is happening is because of refined sugars and carbs, artificial sweeteners and, plant oils being added to food products. Why don't we do something about this?

It is killing off the children and adults. It is terrifying to look at what people riding in the wheel char electric carts provided by all grocery stores are buying. I have family members riding in these carts. It kills me to see this. happening.

I have been writing letters to big agra companies for years begging them to please use less of these ingredients in their products. I can't understand how this can be allowed. The companies that respond to my pleading always saying that they are complying with fda regulations.

I can't believe that the fda has not been gutted and burned for requiring that food manufactures be forced to do some of the things that they do. It goes against all logic for health and I can't understand how it is allowed. I have been writing about this for years and trying to educate the people in m circle.

Sugars actually cause addiction of all shapes and sizes and it disturbs the metabolism of all who regularly consume it. Artificial sweeteners turn into alcohol It is so insidious and evil what is being done. Seed oils go rancid in our bodies and they are transported to the brain because the brain has to have fats. No wonder there are so many that remain unaware or unable to do anything about it. The only thing the people can do is refuse to purchase these products. Vote with your wallets because that is the only thing this corrupt system will respond to. Don't feed this garbage to your children. Avoid carbs at all cost they are the poison.

You're right that it's an addiction. And more than one industry has grown up around it. Never mind the companies like Frito-Lay and Pepsico.

The medical industrial complex is growing metaphorically fat on it. I have a friend whose doctor told him to lose weight. He suggested a paleo diet. But he didn't point out that chicken doesn't qualify as "lean meat" when it's covered in bread crumbs soaked in vegetable oil. He didn't say, hey, fried potatoes are still not part of a paleo diet even when they come with the meat for free as part of the combo.

Oh, that's self-evident, they're trained to say to themselves. But the cause of obesity has been known for, what, three thousand years? Four thousand? And doctors can't see that there just might be a psychological component involved here? And that where there's something psychological going on, maybe the self-evident isn't obvious to the patient at all?

Instead he issued prescriptions that make it easier for the patient when when he sits on the toilet four times a day because he's consuming more than his digestive system can even process.

Why doesn't the government do something? It does. It's making it easier for us to kill ourselves before we get old enough to get some of our FICA taxes back in the form of social security "benefits". It wants us to take ourselves off the medicare rolls. Look at the cynical lies surrounding the jab. This is the norm in government and medicine, not the exception. How much do you suppose the makers of those electric wheelchairs pay in bribes, er, I mean campaign contributions?

You mention addiction. That's the right word. Our "guardians" are all pushers and enablers. Don't doubt how cynical they are about it.

It isn't that nobody's saying anything, it's that we're being squelched and drowned out by these people:

And the addicts are their willing dupes. Because mmmmm, donuts...

Doctors will tell you that, yes, food addiction is a thing. But even though rationalization is Addiction 101, they do nothing to head it off.

WE? WE? I think what you were trying to say is why doesn't someone else do what you want them to do.

I saved the last line of your post because it's the most important. Instead of trying to get others to change to fit your desires (which is nearly impossible to do), make sure you do what you wrote in that last line. You have the power to make an important impact!

I have been avoiding all foods that contain added sugar, sweeteners, and artificial sweeteners of all kinds for decades and bitching about it as much as possible. Cancer loves sugar don't forget that one also, sugar is a direct case of addictions. I stopped buy sugar in the 70's when the price went up to $5 for a five pound bag. Before the price increase it was a little over a dollar for a 5 lb bag. I have written in forums and blogs about sugar being the cause of addiction and how it sets the brain up for obsession. Sugar and sweeteners cause obesity and diabetes it forces the body to store fat rather than use it for energy. People still ask me all the time how do I stay so slim I tell then that I do not eat carbs or sweeteners of any kind. The only exception is if I eat out or eat with friends and accidentally injest something with sugar or carbs in it. I always regret eating these things most of the time when I do I have a hang over the next day that feels like I drank the nite before.

When I had a clinical practice all my clients were given a pamphlet That I designed and wrote with references and citations about the dangers of sweeteners and refined carbohydrates of all kinds and how it affecst the human metabolism and the brain..

You know it. But, are we supposed to lay down and die for the cause? I guess in the end only the strong will survive so I guess it does not matter.

I try and set an example for grandkids and great grandkids and I did for my kids as well.Ensuring education about natural food and un natural food. Un natural food needs to be very little.
