What's Going on at the Bundy Ranch?

I don't know his pedigree.. he was involved with Operation Mutual Aid a year ago.. And he was one of the first on the scene and was Bundy's liaison to other units.

I have known folks that had years of Military service and were complete idiots,, and had been their entire career.. They learned to Kiss Ass well..
I never did,, I got out.

Interesting thing about militias, until the 214s come out I never met a helicopter mechanic, supply guy, or truck driver from active duty days. All kinds of SF, Ranger, SEALs, etc. seemed to be around until that point. Less than 10% of the Army is Infantry, Armor, SF, or Artillery, so actually meeting a SF or Ranger guy who served with those units is a rare thing.

The BLM won't have to lift a finger, these people look like they are going to kill themselves. What a freaking embarrassing joke. This is going to end really pathetically or really bad if they don't get their act together.

Won't happen until they get some combat arms vets for leadership. The posers who run many units now are the guys who are either trying to get themselves put in charge of stuff at higher levels or are the informants, in my view.

The important thing to note is that the real players haven't shown their hands yet. You're watching the amateurs right now.

I have to asking myself how was it that Jerry DeLemus was put into the command position. Props for driving 41 hours. But as far as I can tell he doesn't have the necessary skills to command. As is being shown and as is chronicled here: http://outpost-of-freedom.com/blog/?p=823 Again, just another perspective, this time from someone in Payne's camp.

Yeah,, me too.
He was not (admittedly) with any militia,,
It seems he usurped the position,, or perhaps bullshitted his way into it.

Regardless,, it does seem he was one of the problems there.

All I can say is that after three weeks, there should have been somebody who could find some gardening tools and there should be enough fighting positions dug to make the place look like France in 1917.

Had heard that from some others.
There was equipment on hand on the ranch,, and defensive positions should have been made.

likely were by some.. and maybe there are but just not advertized publicly (wise to keep such quiet)

Please keep in mind I am NOT an official spokesperson for OK. That being said I have been very involved with OK and the Bundy situation.

I think Gunny and Tod are correct that OK may have stepped past our mission as an educational organization; but only in the sense of supplying the militia and Bundy supporters with much needed supplies and equipment. To my knowledge no one representing the OK organization, including Stewart, tried to take a leadership role in terms of security at the ranch. There were OK members there as individuals working within the militia, but not as an organization. The organization was there to bring awareness to this situation and to educate the public. I admit the lines do seem blurry.

We had raised funds to support the bundys and when he got there with the first round of supplies we seen that there was plenty of food and water for the near future. That is why OK cut a check to the bundys for 12K (to reimburse them for food, water, port-a-potties...). As stated in the video, we have raised 40k, so some of that money was used to supply folks out there with much needed equipment. This may be outside of our official mission statement - however we did raise this money for the Bundys and their supporters so it was spent to protect them.

Stuart R himself talked about running OKs through onsite security detail. I heard enough about that straight from the horses mouth to know that OK as an org was participating in the militia effort.

You may be right Gunny... however I see this as various individual OK members volunteering as a support role... not an official organization thing.

This is where they went wrong, by straying outside of their mission statement, and had they not done that then there would have been zero blowback over anything.

I do disagree with you here Gunny. Blowback (over something) was inevitable. I think we both would agree that there are provocateurs and infiltrators amongst the supporters out there, agreed? Provocateurs have been attacking OK from the start of our organization, and this is no different. When you see a video of people like Ryan Payne instigating violence against Stewart and OK members in general... I think it is clear that blowback (over something/anything) was inevitable.

still catching up in this tread, but I'll stop here for now.

I believe she is talking about the 51 minute OK rebuttal video where they claim some of the "Mountain Men", my guess is they were referring to the West Mountain Rangers (Paynes (black shirt) group), attacked the Vietnam vet and another. Knocking him to the ground with an elbow shot to the chest (the vet has heart stints).

correct

Well I was infantry,,and my DD-214 says so.. though the coppys I got are not original and do not show the Anti-Tank specialty that they did originally.

My LT was a Ranger.. Fucker couldn't read a map.
Got us lost every time we moved. I wouldn't follow that man to the bathroom.

So I'm weird because I actually tell people my actual (non-infantry) MOS?

And I'll bet that character never spent any time in a Ranger BN either ....

I don't see anyone being attacked in that,,

I heard some men came to the rescue of a woman that was in distress.
and that only after taking a couple days to get a story out.. I was waiting for the video,, that was promised well over a day before.

and could have been made in ten minutes. :(

You have got to be kidding. So you think Steve H (old guy on left of video) is a liar? No video no crime? Whatever.

According to the clip, it sounds to me like they functioned mostly as scouts, and supplied communication, etc. I'm not hearing that they ever provided security or defense. I'm referring to the org. - not individual members who may have decided to join with the militia. They also alluded to what I wrote earlier, that they were responsible for coordinating V.I.P.s arriving on scene, and P.R..

I really think it's necessary to separate fact from fiction here. I'm not going to so easily accept that the OKs deserted, or stole anything, or subverted their own mission statement.

I agree. Others obviously do not.

Yes. What was your MOS?

It's the internet. I am a Force Recon MARSOC space shuttle door gunner. :)

Actually most guys I meet are pretty honest about what they did I have found.

LMAO! :D "0211 Intelligence Clerk" was the official title, but I did a helluva lot more analysis and S2 Chiefing than I did clerking anything. I did process clearances, I suppose that is clerkish....
