See,we're looking at everything from the inside. From the outside, everyone thought we werea no chance candidate like Tancredo or Hunter, or even Dodd and Kucinich, and was going to get less than a percent and drop out after a could primaries/caucuses. Yet, we're getting votes above or right along with guys like McCain, Thompson, Giuliani, etc, depending on the state.

Now, us on the inside here had hopes for 1st or second place, but this was entirely unrealistic. Its almost an exact opposite of what everyone on the outside expected us to do. We're sitting here, right in the middle. Not enough to be on top,but most DEFINITELY not enough to be considered a "no chance" candidate or to the point of dropping out. We may not be on top right now, but it is not that easy.

We ARE, however, a threat. We've been creeping up constantly for months. Only about a month or so ago, we were barely registering in ANY polls, getting at the most 1%. NOW we are polling at 8-10% and we are constantly increasing.

Again, those of you that though we had a chance of all of a sudden winning everything from the very beginning, you got a reality check just like in Iowa, and its about time you guys did. This isnt going to be a walk in the park, no one is going to hand this to us. We can work 10X harder than everyone else, but we arent gonna get some bullshit sudden Huckabee boost. We gotta stick with this. We arents on a downward trend, we're constantly creeping up.

It makes no sense to jump ship now. To everyone else on the outside, this is very impressive. We have proven that we are no Gravel, or Hunter, or Kucinich. We are in this and they better take us seriously. There has only been a couple primaries, and while we havent won any, we havent "lost" any. Keep it up, because we still have a chance. The founders wouldnt have given up this easily, I can promise you that.

Well said!!!!

Are we all just a bunch of thin skinned pussies that buckle under everytime something doesnt go our way, or are we going to get out there and do our best? Keep spreading the word. Dont just wave signs............... get out there for real and door to door it. Talk to people, get involved in your community groups or whatever you belong to. Its not going to cut it sitting behind a computer or just joining a Meetup group.

Yeah, I need to get on some canvassing here in Raleigh. I have been waiting because our primary is so damn late(May ffs!), but I set myschedule up so I have Tuesdays and Thursdays off, so I have PLENTY of time to help out!

Thats EXACTLY the attitude we need to have. Taking action and making plans to take that action, not just wondering why the votes dont fall into our laps.

we are doing much better than expected and that is only because of the grassroots. keep it up throughout the primaries and if we dont get the nomination we should request ron paul to run as an independet. i kind of feel he owes it to us

yes, do not give in to Delusions of Grandeur!

we have fought tooth n nail to get this far, time to start throwing some knock out punches!

well im giving my all till caucus day here in colorado .Its really up to the voters ,if they dont nominate ron paul then the republican party dies if they so chose to. i never said i would give up but after caucus i will finally be able to have a life again, since this takes up all my freetime. This is very stressful and to be honest the republican party is clueless (THEY WILL LOSE THE GENERAL ELECTION) ,unless they nominate RON PAUL.

right now i feel iowa and nh should be givewn back to the british, dam them,of course ron paul voters are free to leave the state. NH and IA dam the sheep in the state.

my only problem is i have the skills to organize but no time . i work 40 hrs in 3 days then i dj 4 gigs in 3 days, that leaves thursday off but in the last 2 months i have dealt with a blown heat furnace, went 4 weeks without heat at 10,200 feet except a space heater. then we totaled our van avoiding a head on collision that could of killed me and my wife and the lady,my wife broke her back in 2 places and her arm, first hospital missed the broken arm and one of the breaks in her back, and there is more, the point to this rant dam the voters in nh and ia lazy bastards.:(
after feb 5th im taking a god damn vacation with my wife since we didnt have a christmas or a new year.

Very well said

I don't see a 10% first, and then 8% as creeping up.

The problem, as I see it, is not having finished 5th. Giuliani did worse, and he still has a chance.

The problem, is that we lost both states where all the efforts went. Specially NH.
We had the largest donor base in NH, a high density of meetup groups, two different grassroots canvassing efforts, a strong independent and libertarian base.

If it could have happened somewhere, it should have happened there.

I think the trend is going downwards to the 5 percent nationwide that the polls are now showing (and by now, we should have learned to trust the polls).
Right now, the independent run is sounding that much more appealing, if not to win the presidency, at least to plant firmly the seed for change.

you guys just don't get it....denial denial denial......please someone explain how and why he sits conveniently behind juliane and all tooo conveniently at less than 10%....even the polls(which i never believed in) had us greater...Ron does have more support than this.....sigh its going to take a 10%in Nevada (or are you saying thats not even a Ron Paul state) to open your eyes...guess what too late.....something is up .....not to spoil your party but I am desperate for Ron to win .....now all of you can out the blindfold back like the rest of the nation....

Awsome. I wish you guys could come see Michigan. We're going to lose. I thought NH did it right, so we'll do maybe 5% in MI this time next week if we don't get to work. This is a real election, not a movie.

Sorry to say, but Nevada is also Mormon country...

Even beyond this campaign the Ron Paul message and teh modern libertarian movement have been chipping away at this for over 30 years. This is a long term fight that goes beyond this one presidential campaign. Those of us who have voted Libertarian Party for years and years know what I am talking about. What Ron Paul HAS done is energize and galvanize this movement into somethng that cannot be written off ever again! RP will continue on in this race and will at the very least take this all the way to the floor of the convention and change teh discourse within the Republican Party forever.

You are absolutely right. We have been making a HUGE amount of progress -- come on, 1 out of 10 Repub voters is voting for Paul -- this is from a 1-3 percent just a couple of months ago.

Now -- the momentum is building up -- Feb. 5th is almost a month away -- if we can capture this sort of momentum and win some key states, then there is definitely a possibility.

Stay in the race. You have to be in it to win it. The other candidates may drop out, have a scandal, or who knows what. We know RP won't do this and will not let us down as long as we keep fighting -- and he has said this publicly.
