What Happened Trump's "Smart People"?

All we've heard for months is how Trump will hire "the best people" and the "smartest people" when he is elected. Yet, when it comes to the maneuvering of the delegate selection process... these "best smart people" are nowhere to be found. And all I hear is constant WHINING from trump supporters and the loudest bitching from Trump himself.

He is simply being out-played and out-maneuvered! Will Trump whine so loudly when he is equally out-maneuvered diplomatically by Putin? Will he complain the media about how "unfair" the world stage is when China kicks his ass in a trade war? If his so-called "best people" can't navigate their way through the basic GOP nomination process... then a Trump presidency is already doomed to fail.

If Donald Trump were to run the country as poorly as he's run his campaign in garnering delegates then we are in big trouble. He claims he will bring in the best and brightest to "make America great again", but apparently that same slogan doesn't apply to his own campaign which has Cruz supporters as delegates in states that Trump won.

Will Donald cry foul when China and Mexico outmaneuver him the same way Cruz and his campaign staff has made him look like an amateur politician?

Trump talks a good game, but he doesn't play one.

LOL yeah, they are arguing for pure democracy on the other thread.

It's not simply a matter of Cruz having better organization.

The GOP establishment is inserting its own hacks into the process as well, and these people are also going to turn around and flush Cruz down the toilet - if and when it comes to that.

Anyone who does not like having the GOP establishment control the entire process should be complaining.

Anyone who wants to preserve the status-quo should be rejoicing.

I'm really surprised by that here. If I, too, didn't see it in black and white, I wouldn't believe it. But they sure enough are. Crazy stuff, for sure.

Yet the question remains. Trump is all talk and can't manage to send a couple people to Colorado or Wyoming to secure his slots?? If this is all the forethought he puts into the process, then he is indeed all talk and no game and I shudder to think how he would perform as POTUS when it's not delegates at stake, but billions of lives and trillions of dollars.

We are not a direct democracy and never have been (and for god damned good reason). If Trump thinks he can just ride the populist wave of his rhetoric to victory without concerning himself with the minutia of the process, then he is a fool.

Never released his list of Supreme Court Justices he promised "next week" over a month ago too. Too busy calling everybody "stupid".

Trump is STILL out there bitching about how he got schooled by party activists on the ground in Colorado and Wyoming... what a WHINER

Lol, you do realize Trump's campaign to cast Cruz as an illegitimate candidate who can only win when party hacks and insiders cancel elections and dole out the delegates themselves is working. Trump has the least money of all the candidates. The least support among party insiders. What do you think would be a better use of his scarce resources? Using his natural advantage dealing with the media and generating publicity to appeal directly to the people and win primaries? Or devote himself to trying to play the arcane delegate game which is fought on the party insiders home turf?

Trump is not "whining" He's creating a narrative.

Yeah no. You're trying to put a positive spin on Trump's political incompetence. Nice try but I know whining when I hear it. I have two kids and sounds the same :)

He is beating Cruz. If they were not cheating this would be locked up by now.

Stripping Trump delegates is a no no ina fair election.

So yeah it does seem like he has the best people.

You use the word 'cheat'... Did Ron Paul 'cheat' when he came in third in the Iowa Caucus but came out with the most delegates? Did he 'cheat' when he used the same delegate strategy in many other states?

Do you also advocate for 'direct democracy'? Because it seems like you don't like the idea of a 'republic' very much...

Actually, the populace voting for the delegates (i.e representatives) is very much indicative of a republic.

I don't vote anymore. I think democracy and republic are no good compared to no government at all.

But I am making an exception with Trump.

As far as direct democracy vs republic they can be better or good depending on circumstances. Generally the group with most power tends to win regardless of the system.

Republic tends to limit violence. But stealing Trump delegates is not republican way of electing people. What would be republican is if we have elections and delegates are elected. Then they can vote for whomever they want. We don't do that we elect primary contenders. If there was an election delegates need to be selected by the winner and not outside parties.

That's what Trump and his supporters are complaining about, which is the point of the post you're replying to.
