I was introduced to guns in Cub Scouts with small be-be guns (I bet that's spelled very incorrectly), then when I joined Boy Scouts I shot actual shotguns, which was much cooler. That plus the freedom movement.
My dad was always into guns. But thinking about this question, I realized I never fired one shot from any gun until I bought my own when I was 19. Kind of pissing me off now. lol?
From cap busters to BB guns to .22 to 20 gauge and finally to a deer rifle and 12 gauge when I turned 15.
Rifles and shotguns were respected in our family and I considered it my job to keep them clean and oiled from a young age. My two favorites from our collection was a beautiful pre 64 Winchester and a 12 gauge Stevens "long tom" with a 36" barrel - and I still own those two today.
Never once considered shooting a person until I was handed an M16 in basic.
