Guys...I shouldn't get involved in this, but let's not squabble amongst ourselves. The ONLY way we' will secure a large amount of donations for Ron Paul, and the ONLY way we will help to get him elected is if we all combine our individual efforts into one huge effort. Let us never put our own opinions or egos or disagreements above the cause. I'm sure we all already know this, but it must be reiterated.

I've been a lurker since mid July. I had to sign up and support Trevor on this one.

The way Jordan has been acting, I don't trust him either. I think it is pretty obvious that he saw all the attention you received from CNN and Doctor Paul and everyone in the campaign, and now wants it for himself.

That said, I think your intentions are good Jordan. But I see a ton of "sneaky" posts here and there and they just aren't helping in the long run. Trevor has some great websites up. You don't have to redirect, you can run your own site...but when people ask, we need to push one website ultimately.

I think YOU have forget what is really important here Jordan. It's not about who controls these websites and who gets the "attention from CNN."

Let's get back to the EVENT!

I cannot speak for the motivations of anyone here, but I am willing to throw my support behind someone who now has an established rapport with the media. This will be an invaluable tool to the grassroots efforts leading up to, during, and after December 16th.

Jordan - I gotta admit man, I really think you're a cool guy with some super ideas, but we have to work on what's going to be the most effective strategy here. I think you made a wise decision to re-direct your site to Trevor's.

Emotions are bound to a bit heated when the stakes are high like this, and everyone has their own idea of what will work.

Like it or not, the community has rallied around Trevor - both on Nov 5, and again for the Dec. 16th campaign. I think that this consensus support of Trevor is well-founded: Trevor has shown an uncanny ability to be creative while also remaining open and responsive to the consensus view here. If he were not that way, no one would rally around him or his web sites. He has also demonstrated that he has a brain, and generally chooses not to get into endless nit-picking fights on the forums, which allows him to stay on-task and focused on one goal: to bring in a boatload of cash for Dr. Paul.

I admire your efforts, Jordan - heck, if this campaign wasn't important to you, you could very easily sit on the sidelines and do nothing to support Dr. Paul. But I believe this is all very important to you, which is why you have chosen (despite the somewhat heated exchange here) to re-direct your site. Stick with that decision - it was a good one. As for those here that say they don't trust you - I think they are wrong. I trust you and believe that you're going to continue doing what's best for the campaign.

Thanks for listening.

To Get Back on Track...

I'd like to say the new Weekend site looks great! Trevor, you've done an outstanding job of tying it into the Tea Party theme, and it should make a great landing site for the whole weekend. Thanks again for all your hard work for the doctor.

Trevor - posted this on the other thread also... just want to make sure you see this...

One mistake I noticed: on weekendofliberty, on the left side, under December 15th, you have the web site listed as rightrally07.com, which it should be rightsrally07.com (you left off the 's').

EDIT: Thanks for making the change, Trevor.

Thanks.

A lot of people have been asking about the best way to get infomation out to the MeetUp groups.

The Paulunteer is gaining subscribers and visitors every day. There is the ability here to reach an exponential number of supporters by forwarding the newsletter to fellow MeetUp members who will then do the same.

The activists who are subscribed already forward the newsletter to their groups. Join us and help spread the word.

Trevor,

Thank you for all your efforts!

FWIW, I tested both links and they work fine; Charter cable to SW Oregon. I mention this in case you needed a propagation test as you did for the Teaparty07 site).

The fact that people think I made the website to get on the news saddens me.

I am redirecting because anything less would "prove" that I'm grabbing for attention, which is tacitly false.

On the site: good start. If you have the time, you should export it in some kind of XML feed so that meetup and support sites can syndicate it.

I apoligize, I might have been a little out of line.

But I really did feel like you were acting that way. I think you, like all of us, just wanted a successful event...who can blame you?

I hope we can all work to make this huge TOGETHER!

I like the WeekendofLiberty site. I've been plugging it mercilessly on Ron Paul's Facebook groups, and I see other kids are now beginning to mention it when people ask "How can we make the TeaParty even better?"

As of now, there seems to be a general lack of familiarity with December 15th among the college crowd, who can really make or break the idea. But it's getting better than it was. Other people are speaking up and bringing the subject up. One guy said there's a plan in the works right now to have hundreds of people rally on the 16th in LA, supposedly with media coverage already in the works.

In Chicago, I've been pimping this idea repeatedly on the MeetUp board, and I'll be out getting signatures tomorrow so I can get to talk to some MeetUp people in person about it. My plan is to make a couple homemade signs and get out to a nice, busy six-point intersection. If we can get people out to Michigan Ave., State St., Union Station, Grant Park, busy intersections outside of downtown, etc. in Chicago, and people out to all the malls in the suburbs, we'll be seen by two million people for sure.

I think when people have a whole month to get their act together for both of these events, they're going to be on all the airwaves.
