We must get the "High Tide" promo ON AIR!

We should try to get it on during the Bill O'Reilly's show
just to piss him off!!! Plus it will show his viewing audience
that a real fiscal conservative is still running.

If the campaign said "everything donated on March 21 will be put to running this ad in NC" then they'd see a decent money bomb again.

They asked for money to get RP reelected and it was delivered. If they were to ask for a specific task and people could see the results then there would be a decent response.

But.. it's been said.. and the campaign isn't interested in this. So who is starting the chip-in?

That video is phenomenal! It is obvious that a tremendous amount of work was involved in the production of it. I hope that effort and money doesn't go to waste, but that the video revives the revolution and sparks it for the majority of Americans who are still apathetic and cerebrally numb!

I'd donate to a chip-in for this ad. I think puttting it on MTV would be a great idea because it is national but still way cheaper than NBC, CBS, etc.. Also, MTV's main audience is probably about as close to our best age demographic as any major network. I would think if it got on the air that CNN would do a piece on it also (grassroots, new style of advertising, Republican still running ads, etc...). Someone close to the situation set it up, please!

Perhaps Jonathan Bydlak could contact Ron Paul and let him know that the grassroots wants to air this on national TV, or in the remaining primary states and are willing to pay for it. Once our Commander in Chief gives us the ok our Nov 5th, Dec 16th money bomb guy could set up the website.

Just a thought!

I'd start the chipin.. but i've already have too many irons in the fire as it is... not sure i'd have the time to make the media buys and do additional fec reporting.

If I knew how to start and what's involved with a chipin and knew how to get it to go viral i'd do it

I don't know the first thing about getting that promo on the air...but if anyone does, and needs help...i'm here. just tell me what to do.

I can start a ChipIn for airtime, but we need a game plan. Do we focus on a particular state that hasn't had its primary yet? Do we focus on multiple states? Should we set a goal of funds to raise, or just go for it?

I can run all the funds through our PAC and take care of the airtime purchases.

We'll have to modify the ending slightly to make room for a voiceover disclaimer. We need a onscreen disclaimer as well. Being a 60 second ad, it will cost 2x a 30 second spot. Cable's the best bet. Most cable companies have interconnects that connect different zones.

Anybody send it to the G4 channel?

That was my first thought too. With Tivos and DVRs most people probably skip the commercials, but a gamer would probably take a minute to watch something that might look, for a second at least, like a cool new game. I don't know about you, but I'd buy that game. ;)

G4 isn't that big of a network, so the rates might be cheaper, and we'd probably make a lot more of an impact if there are people interested enough to actually watch the commercial.

I'm thinking either G4, or local affialiates for ABC, CBS, or FOX in major cities that have yet to hold their primary.

Yeh, our first priority is the have the ad play in those states that haven't had their elections yet.
And I mean saturate those states, make sure everyone knows Ron Paul is still in the race.

Targeted ads are nice, but it would really help if we could get a national ad to galvanize our troops and bring new supporters in. Try to find out how much 1 minute of national air time costs on NBC, CBS, or ABC during primtime... Even if it's $500,000 for an 8 O'clock show with 10 million or so viewers, I think it would be worth it. Although, I'm not sure how long it will take to raise that kind of cash.

edit: Also check out how much daytime national ads on NBC, CBS, or ABC cost... That might be a better way to go. (I'm assuming it's possible to purchase daytime national ad time, which might not be the case.)

second edit: I'm not including Fox Broadcasting because some people we're boycotting News Corp and their advertisers completely or something like that... Anyway, I'd be fine with a Ron Paul ad on Fox, too. Getting a national ad on any of the four major networks would be phenomenal.
